MOS UpLift Crossbar Specs

The perfect solution for lifting heavy gear onto your roof

MOS UpLift Gas StrutsMOS UpLift Gas Struts

Let's face it, we're not all 6'5" and able to easily lift 50 pounds or more up over our head. We know the struggle is real, so we recommend the MOS Uplift lift assist for your roof rack. This innovative gadget lets you load your boat without having to climb onto your running board or use a step stool - simply pull a handle to lower the arms to a much more manageable height. You'll still have to do a little lifting, but since it's just over shoulder level it'll be much easier on your back. All you have to do is apply a little pressure and the gas struts will gently life your boat onto your roof.

And what's really cool about the UpLift is that, unlike most lift assists, it isn't limited to just carrying a kayak. You can also use it with bike racks, ski racks, or cargo boxes, making it a practical solution you can use all year round.

Video Transcript for Let's Check out the MOS UpLift Kayak Roof Rack and Lift Assist with the Manufacturer

Hey, everyone, I'm Evangeline right here at etrailer and today we have a special guest in the building. So we have Joey here from MOS. And as you've known, I've worked with this product a lot, pretty much all summer with all kinds of different things. He's here to help out with just training us on how to use it, how to assemble it. But while you're here, I wanted to pin you down to just really learn about the story behind MOS, the why and like, why is it here and who does it serve in the market Yeah, yeah, definitely. So, why is it here Well, you know, I'm six foot one guy, so I'm more on the tall side of the thing, but a huge outdoor fan.

I do lots of mountain biking, lots of road biking, lots of skiing. And, you know, in the process when I'm in the parking lot, I see all of those people can have more height challenge, trying to pack the cargo box, pack the kayak or the mountain bike on the rooftop. That's me. Why is it that it's not that simpler- It isn't. For them to pack their gear So kind of wanted to address this gap in the market right now to just have everything within reach.

That's great. So that's kind of the why it happens. Yeah, the gap in the market, the gap in the heights. That's it. I love kayaking but it's always, I always have to wait for someone else to go kayaking with me because it's just hard hoisting it onto the roof by myself.

Yeah, and we just want it to be people to be free of doing the activity they like whenever they like and not being obliged to wait for their buddy to be able to pack their gear. So let the fun be in the sports itself and have a little bit more pleasure in packing the gear in the process, so. That's awesome, so then, is that how this was billed This is how it was designed and developed Do you see a lot of people, like what kind of like stories do you hear from people Yeah, yeah, well, and to circle back to your original question, like who do we serve Who is it meant for And the stories, well, of course, you know, one of the stories that kind of stays in my mind is a story of this woman in like her 50s that, well her husband sadly passed away and she could not pack her kayak by her own and she ended up selling the kayak and she's like, I sold my kayak, not 'cause I'm not able to do the sport anymore, but I'm not able to pack it. And I'm like, this should not happen. So we kind of want to address, well yeah, of course, this is more in the tragic side, but just give the freedom to people.

So hight challenged people, people that are getting a bit older, a little less strength. Evangeline Yeah. But that's it. So that's who we address the product to and that's, yeah, a really marketing story that I always keep in mind to remind me of who I do this for and why I do this. Yeah, well that's awesome. Well, as you've been going through that journey, what improvements or what things have you noticed that people are asking for and looking for Definitely, yeah, well the product that's on the rooftop right here, there are, I don't want to have some spoiler alerts here, but yeah, we do have some few other accessories coming up for the product. So how we see the product evolving is building some accessories that are gonna be meant to be add-ons. Yes. So extensions, for example, to have more possibilities. So mounting some wider cargo boxes, adding an extra bike. So we have two bikes right now, but throwing a third bike, having those wider paddle boards, wider kayaks, wider canoes. So that's an improvement that we've been asked a lot in the past year now and that we're going to address really, really soon. So, you can be-- Excited about it. Yeah, excited about it. Yes. Excess crossbar as well 'cause right now the spread of the bars is limited to 40 inches. We want it to be wider up to 72-74 inches. So we'll introduce crossbars. So plenty of little accessories like that just to improve the use case scenario of our product. Same goes for Class B vans as well. So we're going to introduce a mount for the rear van rack, so you can lower your bikes at the rear of your van. So a couple of little improvements and accessories like that that are coming up. So we had a little sneak peek at what might come and those are really exciting things that you should stay tuned for here at each trailer. But on the design right now, there's two things pro and kind of a con that I've really noticed with the rack. Okay. So the pro really is that strut, that's my favorite part of the rack. What do you think a lot of people are most excited about with the whole rack design The whole thing, well in fact is the multi-sport aspect of it. the fact that people can put well, yeah, their kayaks, but also their cargo boxes during wintertime for their skis and their bikes. So that's what what get people excited about a product the most, I think on the pro side of it and just the smooth, easy up and down. So the gas springs and just the product keeps its level all the way through the process. So that's are the two main thing that come across. Multi-sport and I don't have to lift as much. That's it. Now the major thing people have told me whenever they see this on my car is don't go through car washes, don't go through your garage. This is definitely the tallest accessory I've seen. Do people comment on that a lot for you All Of course, of course. Yeah, that is something that people tell us at some point. If we're able to have a height that is shorter or something that folds, that would be something in their wishlist and that's something on our wishlist as well. Yeah. So I cannot comment on anything right now, but it is in the pipeline and improvements that we're working on. I understand though, because this is also one of the only lift assists that you can put two on your vehicle and not take up as much room. So there it really is about what do you care about the most. That's it. If you can carry two kayaks or two huge things all by yourself without having to like get a person to help you out, that is awesome. It is. So it's been really fun working with the uplift. I've really been enjoying putting all kinds of crazy things on. Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm glad that you're here, really like introducing the whole thing to the rest of us and helping us get hands-on. So if you have any questions for us here at etrailer, maybe you have some comments, you have some questions on how to use this, things like that, we're ready for you. Yeah, for sure, do not hesitate. Send some emails and messages, reach out for sure. Yeah. And we're here to help. Yeah, we've got to have our hands on it. We got to assemble the whole thing. We got to use the whole thing. So we'd love to share that experience with you and you give us your experiences as well. But today what we saw here was, well Joey from Mos and I'm Evangeline from etrailer. I love to hear from you, enjoy your journey.

I am going to rate this high now because it was highly recommended by the person who I spoke to in customer service. Still not kayak weather here to try it. Reason I bought was because of recent shoulder injury that I am still recovering from so testing will have to wait.
