does this product work on a 2016 Honda CRV? And, is it a lot easier than trying to lift on roof...or can u suggest another product for easy lifting to top of car rack

A loading option is the Inno Kayak Lifter Load Assist - Clamp On - Side Loading - 90 lbs # INA453. This allows you to load the kayak from the side of your vehicle giving you an L shape to help pivot the kayak.
Another option is the Rhino-Rack Universal Load Assist - Crossbar Mount - Side Loading - 132 lbs # RR-RUSL which attaches to your crossbar and then extends with an adjusting pole to support the load and give you a pivot point.
