This hitch is rated for 21,000 lbs gross towing weight and a 4,000 lbs vertical load limit, giving you the strength to pull big campers or toy haulers with confidence. The solid steel construction and rust-resistant black powder coat finish keep it steady mile after mile. You can count on its heavy-duty build to stay tight and secure even under the weight of serious fifth-wheel loads.

The single-piece wraparound jaw completely surrounds the king pin for 360-degree contact, creating a solid, rattle-free connection that feels locked in. A 3/4" thick solid steel locking bar reinforces that connection and automatically locks when the jaw closes. This setup cuts down on clanking and chucking so the ride stays smooth and quiet even on long hauls.

The double-pivot hitch head moves front to back and side to side so it can follow the trailer naturally as you drive. Built-in polyurethane dampeners cushion that movement to absorb shock and reduce noise. It’s a simple design that takes the rough edges off towing and helps everything feel more controlled on rough pavement or uneven campsites.

Weighing about 150 lbs total, the Recon breaks down into two pieces so you can handle installation or removal without special equipment. The base attaches directly to a standard 2-5/16" gooseneck ball using a coupler pin underneath, and the head slides into place with three adjustable height settings at 15-1/2", 17-1/4", and 18". Once pinned and tightened, it’s solid and ready to tow—and just as easy to lift out when you need your bed clear again.

Excellent hitch to date and still very happy. Have pulled my fifth wheel around the country with zero issues. I see people with $1800 hitches that have minor slop and problems hooking up at minor funny angles. This hitch is strong, simple, and very secure. No slop.

I have a solution to your issue. The bag with the bolt and nut for the hitch handle should have came with a small round dampener that stops the hitch head from flopping back and forth in the truck. The urethane compresses under a load so it does not restrict the fore and aft movement when coupled. Before you attach the hitch head to the saddle assembly the dampener will need to be installed. Simply press it into the hole that is punched into the bottom side of the hitch as shown in Figure A of the instructions: https:cdn.demco-products.comdocumentsHJ26169.pdf

It works really well. I use it to pull my fifth wheel trailer loaded with firewood firewood to central GA from south GA.

Pretty good. Still rotating a little. I tightened the main bolt to the ball more than the 30lbs. It’s not rotating as much as it has been. Still haven’t figured out if or where I would drill a hole for a bolt to go in. I’m not really wanting to do that yet.
