Reese 5th Wheel Hitch Rails

  • Reese

Heavy-duty, custom brackets dramatically reduce the amount of drilling and time required to install your fifth-wheel trailer hitch. Outboard design ensures simple access to mounting points. Brackets, 10-bolt base rails and hardware included.

Features:

  • Installation brackets mount beneath your truck bed to provide attachment points for 5th-wheel rails
  • Base rails sit in truck bed and allow installation of 5th-wheel trailer hitch
  • Fast, simple installation with outboard design
    • Extended-length base rails allow for mounting farther out from truck frame
      • Avoids underbed components for easier access
      • Cuts down installation time by more than half compared with universal kits
    • Custom brackets mount to existing holes in truck frame, minimizing drilling and measuring
  • Thoroughly tested kit is compliant with strict Society of Automotive Engineers guidelines
  • Kit includes brackets, 10-bolt rails and Grade-8 hardware
  • Compatible with B&W, Curt, Demco Hijacker Premier Series, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, Reese, and Valley above-bed 5th-wheel trailer hitches
  • Sturdy, black powder coated steel resists corrosion

Specs:

  • Base rail dimensions: 48" long x 1-7/8" tall
  • Limited lifetime warranty

Reese's outboard installation kit for your fifth-wheel trailer hitch was designed with safety and convenience in mind. Just like the original custom mounting brackets, these brackets install using existing holes in the truck frame, minimizing installation time. The biggest difference with this outboard kit is the extended-length rails. These above-bed rails are 5 inches longer than standard, universal fifth-wheel rails so that they will match up with the mounting points on the brackets, which sit below the bed and outside of your truck's frame. The result is a much simpler installation process, wherein most underbed components can be easily avoided. Because you are working outside the frame rails, you also have easier access with your tools and more room to work, making the whole process less of a pain.

The base rails included in this installation kit feature a standard 10-bolt design. Each of these rails attaches to the underbed brackets with two carriage bolts at both ends. A single bolt is used in the center of each rail to further secure it in your truck bed. The result is a set of base rails that remains firmly in place thanks to 10 points of contact.

This entire installation kit is built to be SAE J2638 compliant and has been extensively tested per specified accelerated-life-cycle criteria for fifth-wheel trailer hitches. The requirements for testing are based on the European-style test of 900,000 cycles, making this testing process among the most thorough and intensive in the industry.

This kit was fairly easy to install. It works great. Instructions were easy to follow. Just take your time. The pull wires made it easy to get the bolts in place through the truck frame. I use a Husky hitch but the Reese rail kit works with that hitch. Overall I am real satisfied. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because it was backordered but it did arrive sooner than was scheduled. It works as it should and that is the main thing

by:

It all worked great, except for the frame rail plates. On a 2025, you have to drill one hole in the frame to make it work. It's been a year and all still working great!

Very easy to install and everything lined up like it was suppose to

picked them up last weekend. haven't installed them but my other unit was for my 2013 Ford 1/2 ton and they were the over the rail brackets which I could not torque to 100 lbs.
these will be a no brainer to install.

working as prescribed it holds the 5th wheel toy hauler to the head stock and the head stock to the truck body. much better product than the original above the truck frame for torquing nuts.

Outboard installation with custom mounts is the only way to go!
Save yourself alot of grief and remove both rear wheels to install. Instruction set is not quite writen to this particular kit. For the needed tool set they require a 1.25 hole saw that you never use. The cat wisker feed wires are fantastic, give that guy a raise for coming up with that idea. Forgett the little insulator squares they give you. Use heavy clear packing tape and wrap two layers on all spacers and the fingers of the custom mounts.

Very patent in regards to them answering all my concern questions. E-Trailer knew exactly what I needed for my new Ford F-150 aluminum truck bed. If the product did not fit, there was no problem to return within 60 days. Delivery was on time. The tracking system was perfect. The follow up was great. The fifth wheel was installed by others, and I am very happy with E-Trailer. Thanks Guys!!!!

Watch the video; makes the job more straightforward. Workmanship and quality were very good; I was dismayed to to find my parts package torn and missing a bolt. Took some real digging to find what turns out to be a very non-standard type of bolt (Grade 8 Carriage)... finally found one in a mechanics toolbox at a local trailer rental place as I needed it right away for a trip. Finally, after getting through my first installation, I could probably do it in 4 hours as there has been a lot of thought and engineering put into the custom kit. First time installers should expect spending more like 6-8 hours for the job.

The custom hitch kit fit my f150 perfectly and the etrailer staff were extremely helpful in making sure I ordered the correct kit for the year of my truck. Etrailer is an outstanding company to do business with and I would highly recommend them.

I ordered fifth wheel hitch rails for my truck on a Friday and I paid for the 3 day shipping and they already arrived on Monday. Super easy to navigate the website and when I asked a question about mounting and which rails and kingpin I needed they responded very quickly!

2017 Ford F-150

Installed on my 2017 F-150 Supercrew. Not a no drill install as sold but with a couple of tools it’s a 2 hour install at most. Local RV dealer wanted 1600 for hitch and install and additional 150 for the light plug. I got it all for Etrailer.com for 850 and about two hours later I saved myself a ton of money!

by:

Product arrived on time and I have installed and pulled my 5th Wheel without any siiues.

However, the # RP50087-58 kit you'd looked at doesn't carry over to the 2021 F-150 model which is year 1 of the 14th generation of the truck, which you kind of alluded to. For the 2015 Ford F-150 with the 5.5 bed it is not recommended to use a slider because of the bed length. Because the truck has a 5.5 bed it requires a Sidewinder to give you the clearance needed when making turns. Setting the hitch height is determined when setting up the hitch.
