Specs:

  • Limited lifetime warranty

Reese's outboard installation kit for your fifth-wheel trailer hitch was designed with safety and convenience in mind. Just like the original custom mounting brackets, these brackets install using existing holes in the truck frame, minimizing installation time. The biggest difference with this outboard kit is the extended-length rails. These above-bed rails are 5 inches longer than standard, universal fifth-wheel rails so that they will match up with the mounting points on the brackets, which sit below the bed and outside of your truck's frame. The result is a much simpler installation process, wherein most underbed components can be easily avoided. Because you are working outside the frame rails, you also have easier access with your tools and more room to work, making the whole process less of a pain.

The base rails included in this installation kit feature a standard 10-bolt design. Each of these rails attaches to the underbed brackets with two carriage bolts at both ends. A single bolt is used in the center of each rail to further secure it in your truck bed. The result is a set of base rails that remains firmly in place thanks to 10 points of contact.

This entire installation kit is built to be SAE J2638 compliant and has been extensively tested per specified accelerated-life-cycle criteria for fifth-wheel trailer hitches. The requirements for testing are based on the European-style test of 900,000 cycles, making this testing process among the most thorough and intensive in the industry.

This kit was fairly easy to install. It works great. Instructions were easy to follow. Just take your time. The pull wires made it easy to get the bolts in place through the truck frame. I use a Husky hitch but the Reese rail kit works with that hitch. Overall I am real satisfied. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because it was backordered but it did arrive sooner than was scheduled. It works as it should and that is the main thing

by:

Works perfect. Not to hard to install myself. Great price. Would definitely recommend.

The custom hitch kit fit my f150 perfectly and the etrailer staff were extremely helpful in making sure I ordered the correct kit for the year of my truck. Etrailer is an outstanding company to do business with and I would highly recommend them.

picked them up last weekend. haven't installed them but my other unit was for my 2013 Ford 1/2 ton and they were the over the rail brackets which I could not torque to 100 lbs.
these will be a no brainer to install.

working as prescribed it holds the 5th wheel toy hauler to the head stock and the head stock to the truck body. much better product than the original above the truck frame for torquing nuts.

Very patent in regards to them answering all my concern questions. E-Trailer knew exactly what I needed for my new Ford F-150 aluminum truck bed. If the product did not fit, there was no problem to return within 60 days. Delivery was on time. The tracking system was perfect. The follow up was great. The fifth wheel was installed by others, and I am very happy with E-Trailer. Thanks Guys!!!!

Outboard installation with custom mounts is the only way to go!
Save yourself alot of grief and remove both rear wheels to install. Instruction set is not quite writen to this particular kit. For the needed tool set they require a 1.25 hole saw that you never use. The cat wisker feed wires are fantastic, give that guy a raise for coming up with that idea. Forgett the little insulator squares they give you. Use heavy clear packing tape and wrap two layers on all spacers and the fingers of the custom mounts.

2018 Ford F-150

Watch the video; makes the job more straightforward. Workmanship and quality were very good; I was dismayed to to find my parts package torn and missing a bolt. Took some real digging to find what turns out to be a very non-standard type of bolt (Grade 8 Carriage)... finally found one in a mechanics toolbox at a local trailer rental place as I needed it right away for a trip. Finally, after getting through my first installation, I could probably do it in 4 hours as there has been a lot of thought and engineering put into the custom kit. First time installers should expect spending more like 6-8 hours for the job.

by:
2017 Ford F-150

Installed on my 2017 F-150 Supercrew. Not a no drill install as sold but with a couple of tools it’s a 2 hour install at most. Local RV dealer wanted 1600 for hitch and install and additional 150 for the light plug. I got it all for Etrailer.com for 850 and about two hours later I saved myself a ton of money!

by:
2017 Ford F-150

  • Correct Reese Custom 5th Wheel Above Bed Brackets for a 2021 Ford F-150
I checked with Reese and the correct Reese Quick-Install Custom Brackets for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches for a 2021 Ford F-150 is part # RP56034. These brackets fit all models besides Raptor's or if there are ride height sensors. Please note, these are outboard brackets which means you need the longer 58" rails like part # RP30153 or you can just purchase the kit part # RP56034-53. These are the only Reese brackets available for this truck, they will fit all bed sizes.

  • Will the Timbren Springs # TFR1504D Fit on a 2015 Ford F-150 with Custom 5th Wheel Brackets
Yes, the Timbren rear suspension system # TFR1504D you referenced will work with the Reese fifth wheel frame brackets # RP56034-53 or # RP50087-58 on your 2015 Ford F-150 with a 5-1/2 foot bed. The reason is the Timbren springs # TFR1504D installs on the bottom and inboard side of the frame and the Reese base rails # RP56034-53 and RP50087-58 mount on the outboard side of the frame. • Does Reese Fifth Wheel Rail Kit RP56034-53 Fit 2022 Ford F-150 and Pro Series Fifth Wheel Hitch
Yes, the Reese fifth wheel rail kit part # RP56034-53 is the correct fit for your 2022 Ford F-150 and is also a fit for your Pro Series fifth wheel hitch as well. This is the outboard style of rail kit that has brackets that attach to the outer sides of the truck frame instead of the inner side which is why the rails are longer at 48 inches compared to what you had previous. The outboard style rail kits are much easier to install but the rails are a little longer.

These rails are industry standard rails that will work well with your Husky slider hitch. For the 2015 Ford F-150 with the 5.5 bed it is not recommended to use a slider because of the bed length. The rails are installed over the axle because of the vertical load from a fifth wheel or goose neck trailer. Because the truck has a 5.5 bed it requires a Sidewinder to give you the clearance needed when making turns. Setting the hitch height is determined when setting up the hitch. Typically when we install them we set them at the middle height and that is usually enough. If you set...
