Used the CrossWing all last year towing our fifth wheel. Installing it was quick and easy. The hardest part was torquing the main bolt but with two people it was quick. It's light enough that I can install and remove it myself but yet feels very strong. It is easy to couple and release and feels smooth while towing.

by:

I bought this for my Grand Design 260RD fifth wheel and I am pulling it with a new Ford F250. The Curt Crosswing arrived in 2 days.
The adaptor required a torque wrench that goes up to 300 lbs torque and several large 4 in. deep sockets.
The bolt that goes over the gooseneck came in two sizes. The shorter one did not fully thread the nut. The longer bolt bolt required an 8 inch deep socket to tighten. It installed easily after getting the right tools. A few bolts have to be removed to remove the hitch adaptor. Once the bolts are removed one person can move the adaptor.
The on line videos did make it easier than it was.

I sold this hitch long ago and installed a Reese Goose Box. The Crosswing was the worst riding hitch I ever experienced. Love the Goose Box!

by:

So far I really like the hitch

by:

Really like the Crosswing, so easy to hook and unhook and easily disassembles so that 1 person can take it in and out of bed of truck, recommend watching You Tube Videos of the Crosswing. We pull a Brinkley Z3100 36’ that weighs 14800 loaded.

by:

Easy install into the bed of the truck. It is light enough that I can remove and install by myself, but there are quite a few steps to make sure it is installed correctly. I am a little concerned as the head seems to “lean” back 10° or so, which puts a considerable strain on the rear dampener. I’ve asked Curt about it and they say all is well. I’m not so sure.

I saw your review and reached out to Curt myself. I showed them your picture and they said quote, This has not caused any issues with the Cross wing hitch. The unit will work fine with that pin box, end quote. I see where you are coming from but I wouldnt worry because the manufacturer has confirmed you are good to go. Happy towing!

See what our Experts say about this CURT 5th Wheel Gooseneck Adapter

  • What Is The Recommended Bed Rail Clearance When Towing A Fifth Wheel?
Hey Jim, congrats on the new truck and fifth wheel - looks great. Our rule of thumb is that you want a minimum of 6" of clearance between the top of the bed rails and the bottom of the trailer loft. You should be just fine to use the bottom hole on your Curt CrossWing # C32DR to gain the additional 2" of clearance for your jacks. Even after doing this, you will be left with 7.5" of bed rail clearance so there will be no danger of the trailer contacting the bed. We do want to try to keep...

  • Does Curt Crosswing Fifth Wheel Hitch Void Warranty of RV Frame
The Curt Crosswing part # C86JR does not void any warranties on trailer frames as it's a fifth wheel hitch and not a gooseneck adapter. It's also lighterweight which helps make it an easier choice then most fifth wheel hitches. If you were asking about the adapter version of the Crosswing part # C32DR it also does not void the warranty as it is an adapter on the truck side and not the trailer.

  • Recommended Gooseneck Hitch for a 2025 Ram 2500 w/out the Puck System
No, I am sorry Rory we do not but congrats on the new truck! The Curt Custom Underbed OEM-Style Gooseneck Trailer Hitch item # C60633, you referenced is compatible with your 2025 Ram 2500. It mounts to predrilled holes with included hardware. This hitch fits both the 6-1/2' and 8' bed lengths on the Ram's without the factory puck system. The Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter item # C32DR is compatible with the Curt item # C60633. It will attach directly...

  • Can The Curt Gooseneck Anchor Plate # C65NR Be Used For Gooseneck Towing Chain Anchors?
The Gooseneck Anchor Plate # C65NR can only be used when using the Curt CrossWing # C32DR. The CrossWing does use the pins to hold itself on the ball unlike a traditional gooseneck hitch. If you have a factory style puck system in your bed we do have safety chain loops for Ram # C94ZR or Chevy, Ford, GMC, and Nissan # C60691. Otherwise if you have a different type of gooseneck hitch let me know what brand it is and I can determine which U-Bolt Kit # BW1900-2-1600 you may need to ensure...

  • Can Curt Crosswing be Used in Truck Bed that Has Bed Mat
Hey Jim, Curt states that the Crosswing part # C32DR can't be used with anything other than a spray in bed liner. But if your mat is really 1/8 of an inch thick and you don't have a spray in bed liner I would think it should still fit pretty easily. What prevents the hitch from turning on the gooseneck ball is the set screws that hold the ball tightly and prevent it from being able to spin.

  • What Curt Crosswing Option do I Want for My 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 6 3/4' Bed with OEM Prep?
Hello Thoomas, I am assuming you have the GMC Sierra 2500 with the 6 3/4' bed, since the 1500 model does not come with the Prep Package. With the 6 3/4' bed, it is recommended to use either a slider hitch or a rotating pin box to avoid clearance issues. However, some of the newer 5th wheels are designed to prevent these problems. If you are considering the Curt CrossWing for your GMC Sierra with the OEM Prep Package, the correct option would be the Curt CrossWing Lightweight 5th Wheel...

  • Can The Curt CrossWing Gooseneck Adapter C32DR Be Used With Offset Gooseneck Ball?
Hello Shayne, thanks for reaching out. I checked with my contact at Curt, and they said the Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # C32DR should only be used with standard gooseneck balls, and should not be used with an offset ball. The CrossWing hitch provides 5" of offset, so you would not want to add more offset to this setup.

  • Which Safety Chains Fit Curt CrossWing Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Adapter on 2018 Silverado 3500
The Safety Chains and Rail Anchors # C35NR are designed for the CrossWing mounted on ISR rails. For the Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # C32DR you would need the Gooseneck Anchor Plate for Curt Crosswing 5th Wheel # C65NR. This installs over the gooseneck ball shank and will allow you to attach the Safety Chains # C95NR.

  • Can Curt CrossWing Fifth Wheel Hitch be Used with MORryde Pin Box
No it cannot. No version of the Crosswing can be used with any rotating pin box since they only attach to the vehicle to a gooseneck hitch ball down the center which is not adequate for the twisting torque that the pivoting pin boxes put on the hitches.

  • Difference Between Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitches C32DR and C92DR
The Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # C32DR and part # C92DR are the exact same. This hitch is designed to attach to a gooseneck hitch and provide a connection for a fifth wheel hitch. Therefore, if you have a standalone goosneck hitch or factory prep package this is the hitch you'll want to use. It's very lightweight at only 70 lbs so it's easy to get in and out of the truck bed by yourself. Please note, there is another version of this hitch...

  • Is There Difference Between Curt Crosswing 5th Wheel Hitch # C32DR and # C92DR
There basically is no difference but we have two part numbers for the Curt Crosswing depending on where we have it listed on our website. As a fifth wheel hitch it's part # C92DR or as an adapter for a gooseneck hitch ball part # C32DR.

  • Is there a Curt CrossWing Lightweight 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch That Works with a B&W Turnover Ball
Yes, they do make the Curt CrossWing Lightweight 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C86JR in a version that can be used with a B&W Turnover Gooseneck ball. That is the Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # C32DR. The hitch will attach the the actual turnover ball and not down into the gooseneck hitch. This allows it to work with the B&W Turnover ball, even though B&W uses a square hole for their gooseneck hitches.

  • Are Safety Chains Required When Using Curt Crosswing Fifth Wheel Hitch
Fifth wheel hitches like the # C32DR do not require safety chains so there aren't any brackets on the Curt Crosswing part # C32DR for them. It's an interesting caveat but if there isn't a hitch ball involved safety chains aren't required. This does fit the OEM gooseneck hitch of your 2018 Ram 2500 as well.

I spoke with a representative of Curt, who told me the Rota-Flex pin box and CrossWing adapter are indeed compatible. I was also told that no lockout is required to use the two together, so you are good to go with the following: - Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Hitch Adapter # C32DR The only thing I recommend adding with the CrossWing # C32DR are safety chains just for the added backup connection and peace of mind. • Will Curt Crosswing Fifth Wheel Hitch be Quieter than Andersen Ultimate Fifth Wheel
The Curt Crosswig part # C32DR locates the king pin of the trailer pin box centered between the two fifth wheel rails so you would not have to worry about tailgate or bed rail clearance issues. This hitch has a lot fewer moving parts than the Andersen Ultimate you have now so you would get a lot quieter and smoother ride quality.

  • Parts Needed to Install Curt CrossWing on 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 With Prep Package
What you said is correct. Since you have the factory prep package, the only other thing you will need to use the CrossWing # C32DR is the Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loop Kit # C38CR (60639). Safety chains are not required for the 5th wheel hitch so technically the safety chain hookups aren't necessary. If you think you might tow a gooseneck trailer and want to have them just in case go ahead and get the kit. If not, you can get the Curt Pop-In Ball # C60627 separately to save a little...

Yes, you can use the Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # C32DR with your 2021 F-350. However, it is possible you will not be able to make a full 90 degree turn since you have the short bed, so that is something you need to be aware of. If you have a 5th wheel with a tapered nose it is unlikely clearance will be a problem.

With the Curt CrossWing # C32DR attaching to your truck by the gooseneck ball you should not use the Sidewinder Wedge # C85DR. You should only use a pivoting pin box on a 5th wheel hitch with multiple mounting points. Hitches with a single attachment point are not strong enough to resist the pivoting force place on the hitch by the trailer king pin with a pivoting pin box.
