Is Curt Crosswing Compatible With Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loop Kit

I had a couple questions about some of your products. I currently have the Curt CrossWing Lightweight 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 20,000 lbs. I looking to up grade my pickup. One of the ones I’m looking at doesn’t have a 5th wheel/gooseneck ball but has the prep for it. Would the Curt Ball and Safety Chain Underbed Gooseneck Hitch - 38K Part Number: C38CR still work with that hitch? I am worried about when I tighten down the hitch to the ball, it will crush or damage the mechanism that releases and locks the ball into place. Thank you.
