This hitch automatically slides up to 14" as you turn, giving your truck and trailer the clearance they need on tight corners or when backing into a site. The built-in rack-and-pinion design keeps that sliding motion smooth and controlled, so the hitch moves back toward the tailgate at slow speeds and returns forward when you straighten out. You never have to leave the cab to pull a manual lever—just turn and let the Autoslide do its job.
The single-piece wraparound jaw surrounds the king pin for 360-degree contact, creating a firm connection that cuts down on rattling and chucking while you’re on the road. A solid 3/4" thick steel locking bar sits in front of the jaw for added security, automatically locking when the jaw closes. The result is a ride that feels stable and quiet, even with heavy loads up to 18,000 lbs GTW and 4,500 lbs vertical load.
The double-pivot head moves both front to back and side to side, which makes hooking up easier and helps absorb bumps as you drive. Three polyurethane dampeners cushion those movements, cutting down on road shock and towing noise. The head naturally tilts into position as it meets your pin box, so it’s ready to lock without any wrestling or extra effort.
Installation is straightforward thanks to the included rail adapter designed for use with the OEM prep package. Drop the base into the puck receivers, pin it in place, bolt on the side plates, and attach the head—no complicated adjustments required. The hitch offers three height settings at 16-1/2", 17-3/4", and 19-1/4", making it easy to dial in the right fit for your trailer height and bed clearance before hitting the road.
This fifth-wheel trailer hitch is not compatible with Sidewinder or Revolution king pins. Do not use any device that changes the pivot point of your trailer's king pin with this hitch.

Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm going to take a look at this Demco fifth-wheel rail adaptor for the Ram OEM fifth-wheel towing prep package, and this has a 25,000 pound weight capacity. Now this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2013 and newer Dodge Ram and Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks that have the OEM fifth-wheel towing prep package. Basically, this adapter's perfect if you want to use your standard fifth-wheel trailer hitch that'll mount to above-bed rails with the Ram's trucks factory installed under-bed fifth-wheel mounting kit. This will convert that factory installed under-bed kit from your Ram to the standard above-bed fifth-wheel base rails. You can see right here, these are the rails that your fifth-wheel tabs will drop into.I wanted to show you how this mounts to your factory system, I'm going to zoom in on one of the corners.
You'll do this on all four corners. But basically you'll have this handle here, and you have this safety pin, so you'll pull out the safety pin just like that, and then you'll rotate this handle all the way 90 degrees. When you do that, these tabs on the bottom here will line up with each other, and that'll allow you to remove it are inserted into the factory system. You just drop it into the pucks, and then to lock it into place, all you do is rotate this back 90 degrees until the hole lines up, and you'll notice it locks it into the tabs. And then you just take your safety pin for safety, push it in and it'll hold it into place, so there's no drilling or welding required with this.
And again, this is on one corner, you'll do this on all four corners. Just zoom back out and you can see you'll do it on all four corners.What you also want to remember is that the Ram trucks use different size tabs and sockets on the front and the rear of the vehicle, so you want to make sure when you install this, that you install it correctly. Basically they even have an arrow here that shows you pointing this way, meaning towards the cab. So up here is the smaller tabs, that's always on the cab side or the front of the Ram, and on the very back by the tailgate is the larger rear tabs. And to even help you with it, besides this arrow here, if you look at the front ones, the bolts are silver-colored, or the tabs also underneath.
And if you look at the rear ones which are larger, they put a yellow zinc finish on them, so that will even help you determine which is front and which is rear.The adapter itself is a nice rust-resistant black powder coat steel construction. It is made in the USA. Again, the application is for 2013 and newer Ram trucks that have that OEM under-bed towing prep package. Maximum capacity, which is stamped on it right here is 25,000 pounds. Just to let you know, when you do install this, this adapter will add about 1 3/8" height to your fifth-wheel hitch.

This slider works great never have to even think about it being back there it does it's job with out a care from me worth evert penny it cost.

Has to do a little assembly, really easy. Tows super nice, when turning does move towards the back. You’ll need to adjust the guides for the fifth wheel.
Unit is heavy and well built. Install was easy, just bolt on side plates on, drop the base on the adapter plate and pin it, put head assembly on and pin that, that's all there is to it. Looking forward to many years of towing with this unit.
Fit perfect. Good instructions make it raise to assemble.
ETrailer provides excellent service and advise.
Installation was straight forward operates very smooth and quiet installed overhead winch as seen in photo to make install easy also to remove very impressed with the craftsmanship of hitch.

After minor adjustments installation was ok. Instruction were clear. My pullrite superglide fit perfectly. Thanks for this great product and etrailer I am going to have a great camping season.
Tows great. I’m a first time fifth wheel owner. This made it easy. Be careful because this hitch is capable of angle that your trailer axles aren’t especially on a hard surface like asphalt or concrete. Over all very pleased. Be prepared to hoist this hitch in and out of your truck if you plan on removing it often. Probably weights closed to 400-500 lbs.
Excellent choice for a short bed Super Duty . Have towed several thousand miles with no issues. This is a heavy hitch , but that is what you get with a heavy duty Demco hitch . Plenty of room between trailer and truck when doing tight turns.
I love this hitch. Never having used an automatic slider and moving from a long bed to a short bed truck it took me a few attempts to get accustomed to backing up.
I would recommend this slider over any other brand. No capture plate needed either.
It works as advertised. However, it adds bulk / weight but unfortunately it is required because the autoslider hitch I purchased does not come custom all-in-one for my 2020 Ram 3500 OEM puck system.
Overall, great products. The capture plate needs to be tweaked every time I use it and it’s finicky to get it just right but works well when it’s set. It requires a powerful impact wrench to do it. If it was easier to adjust I’d give it 5 stars. The hitch works beautifully with my short bed truck.
I have owned this unit for over a year now. Here are the pro's and cons that I have experienced.
Pro- I have pulled with this hitch in some really tight spaces in forward and reverse and still have the rear window in tact.
Con- Heavy, really heavy.
Pro- heavy duty,smooth riding, and double jaw lock makes a great connection.
Con- manufacturer recommends 1/8 of separation between the slides on the top of hitch. When backing upon 40' wheeler in some tight spaces it is hard to align without opening the slides a bit more. This is not he issue. Remembering to tighten them in the rush of leaving is the hard part.
Pro- once you are attached to your truck there is nothing more you need to worry about until you disconnect.
Con- If you are a weekender like me and use your truck for work the rest of the week, you will need at least one person to help lift in or out pre or post travel. Works pretty well with gantry crane.
My wife and I are full-time RVers, and have used this slider hitch from the get-go while traveling around seeing the country over the past year. We are happy with our purchase, which has proven to be both easy to hook up, adjust, and functions well, as advertised.
The only matter I think you may want to address are the thick plastic removable maintenance access covers which tend to bow, and the areas around the attachment holes have melted, in the hot weather. Perhaps instead using a light metal for the covers would be better solution.
We are very happy overall with this hitch, and plan to keep it . Thank you.
Installed in my 2014 Silverado. This looks to be a very heavy-duty hitch that doesn't require a capture plate.
The new lower base for the Demco hitch arrived on Tuesday via Freight it was a great interaction the driver I actually knew from a previous delivery, me and a friend were able to lift the old one out of the bed of my truck and install the new one today and all I have to say is...
PERFECT FIT!
It appears that Demco has already redesigned the lower base compared to my original one to prevent this problem from happening again. I was actually kind of shocked to see that upgrade and change.
I cannot say enough good words about you with etrailer and Demco working with me to get this problem solvedm Yes it took a little bit of work, ultimately this time we got it. I cannot thank you guys enough.
My friend and I will be finalizing the installation and getting it locked down to the bed with a few custom spacers for the lower rails this weekend.
Here are a few pictures of the installation resuming. If I remember , when I finally pick up my new camper, I'll send some pictures along too. Have to give credit where credit is due . Not sure of you have a customer wall at HQ. I know we had one in my old shop.

i was lucky. everything fit in place. installation was very easy.
its mated to a Super Glide 2900 slider hitch sitting in a 2016 Ram 3500 Mega Cab dually.
This is an excellent product. It arrived 1 day after ordering it. It had very good instructions that were easy to follow. It only took me 20 minutes to install. It fit tight, but perfectly. It will be the perfect base for the Demco autoslider that I'm going to put on it. I'm using it in my 2018 Ram 2500 Crew cab to pull a Keystone Cougar Half ton fifth wheel.
Demco auto slide hitch works very well with my crew cab short bed Ram. Fits under my tonneau cover nicely. Trouble free thus far. Had to purchase a Demco plate for the camper to make the Rhino box hitch work. etrailer personnel were great in helping ensure I had the right products and kept me well informed of shipping dates.
Fits in the truck very well, but the fit to my B&W Patriot hitch is a little loose which my cause some rattles, but I don’t think it is loose enough to be a problem.

This hitch has worked well for me. It is now used in a 2018 GMC Sierra 2500. It is just tall enough that I can see it in my rearview mirror to make it easy to get lined up with the kingpin
