Will The MORryde Replacement Pin Box Offer More Length Than A Lippert Rhino Pin Box

I have a 2022 FR Rogue Armored 351G2, 45’ length. Currently have the Rhino pin box attached to the Anderson goose adapter in a long box F-350. I am switching to a short box F-350 with the Demco Hijacker auto slide premier series 5th wheel hitch. The Rhino box is tapered and short, it looks like it won’t match well with the Demco hitch. Is the MorRyde pin box a suitable replacement and does it offer any extra length?

Hey Pat,
The Rhino box definitely is shorter than what most Rver's were hoping for so we get this question all the time. Switching to a MORryde Cushioned pin box designed with a Rhino box bolt pattern unfortunately won't give you extra clearance since they made them with a matching 13.27" length from the king pin to the first set of bolt holes. It will help reduce chucking and road vibration though. If you went with this pin box you'd want part # MR83QR to match your GVWR to the shear spring capacity.
With the Demco Hijacker Autoslide # DM8550034 you should gain enough clearance with the 14" slide to overcome the short length of the pin box and execute your turns without the trailer hitting the cab of the truck.
If you're wanting to get a bit more length then the Curt Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC65VR has a 15-3/4" measurement from the king pin to the first set of bolt holes.

Is the LC65VR the only option to get the 15.75” length? I honestly am not really interested in an air bag/strut pin box, seems like just one more thing to go wrong or wear out and have to replace. And after spending almost 2k on the sliding hitch, another $1900 on a pin box is not really where I’d like to be. These hitch descriptions give a lot of info but none provide the length from the king pin to the first bolts.
