This heavy-duty fifth wheel hitch is rated for 25,000 lbs gross towing weight and a 6,250 lbs vertical load limit. Its sturdy steel construction and carbide powder coat finish give it the muscle and durability needed for hauling big campers, toy haulers, or RVs down the highway. The interlocking 2-jaw system provides full 360-degree jaw-to-king-pin contact, which means less rattle and more secure towing on every trip.
The fully articulating torsion head uses a spherical axial bearing that allows smooth 360-degree movement of the hitch head. That design helps suppress road shock and keep the ride quiet, reducing the clunking and chucking that wear you out on long hauls. It self-aligns to make coupling easier and keeps your trailer stable as road conditions change.
Backing into a site or making a slow turn is easier with the included S25 slider. It provides 12" of fore/aft travel to create extra clearance between the truck cab and trailer at low speeds. The non-binding design slides smoothly in both directions and automatically latches, so you only need to step out once to operate it.
A quick look at the color-coded indicator tells you if the jaws are ready to uncouple (red), couple (yellow), or tow (green). The indicators are visible from the cab, so you can confirm you’re locked in without climbing into the bed. When you unhook, the handle resets itself to the ready-to-couple position for an easy next hookup.
When it’s time to clear your bed, the fast one-pin head removal makes it simple for one person to lift off the hitch head without extra tools or equipment. Built-in zerk fittings make lubrication quick, and the included plastic lube plate helps the king pin glide smoothly for consistent hookups. This modular setup makes it easy to manage whether you tow often or just seasonally.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CURT Universal Carbide Black Finish Fifth Wheel Base Rails. Now, these base rails will install in your truck bed. And they provide the necessary attachment points for your fifth wheel hitch installation. Now, when these rails are used with the CURT's Custom Mounting Brackets, which we sell separate on a website, these rails will cut in half the time it takes to install your fifth wheel trailer hitch.
We mentioned the finish on this. I'm gonna zoom in and sort of show it. It's a carbide black finish, sort of like a matte black finish, so it matches the finish if you use it on the CURT Q5 20K Fifth Wheel Hitch. Now, these rails are universal, so they will work with the following fifth wheel hitches. They work with the CURT brand, the Draw-Tite, the Hidden Hitch, the Reese, and even the Husky.
This part here will include the two base rails. Now, we mentioned the mounting brackets, the custom mounting brackets, the hardware, and an installation kit is all sold separately. The length on these rails, if we put a tape measure on them from one end to the other, right at 43 inches long. Pretty easy to install. As per instructions, I did have to drill one hole in the frame of the truck and Enlarge one hole. This brace system under the bed that attaches to the frame of the truck is a very heavy duty piece of equipment. I feel very safe with this choice because of this fact.

Ordered a fifth wheel rail and installation kit. It was delivered on time and was exactly what I ordered.
Custom fit brackets made the job fairly easy, even though this was my first time to install a 5th wheel hitch. The installation took several hours, since I took my time and measured several times before drilling.
Did the job. Took me about eight hours to install. Had a little clearance problem with a rivet in the truck frame, so I had to do a little grinding to the bracket. But other than that it was good.

Good hitch heaven duty
Everything was exactly as described. The only thing that could have been different and better with the product in my application was the single front tab on the side plates could have been double, just like the rear of the plates. Simple, easy installation. Did have to drill the front side plate mounting holes in the truck frame, no factory existing holes present, but no problem. The right side front hole is directly behind the shock tower. Over-all a great product.
Second time I have installed Curt kit. Process is fairly easy and instructions are good. Thanks to etrailer.com for great installation videos and quick shipping.

MY Q16 5TH WHEEL HITCH WORKS WONDERFUL IT IS WAY EASIER THAN THE OTHER TYPES.I GOT RIGHT ON THE MONEY THE 1ST TIME I HOOKED MY 5TH WHEEL.ALSO I BOUGHT THE WIRE HARNESS TO INSTALL IN THE BED OF MY F350 AND IT WAS A BREEZE TO INSTALL.
Put these on my 2006 F250 about a year ago, they have pulled my 10,000 lbs 5th wheel RV like a champ and also a 14,000 lbs skid steer and attachments using the gooseneck adapter like a champ. Only thing that gave out was a tire on the trailer!

Not too hard to install holes lined up. Had to make the hole in the frame toward the front larger. After measuring the rails perfect hole placement to installed the rails. Took about 4 hours total. Very good help from the customer service at etrailer to match up the item and also save me a few dollars.
