Today, we're going to take a look at the Taylor Made 12-inch long steel gas shock. Now, this gas shock will replace a worn or damaged shock on your dock box or boat hatch. This is a coated annealed steel rod, which provides corrosion resistance, so it is perfect for high salt water areas. And this does easily install in minutes. There's no special tools that are required. When you do install this, you do want to make sure that this inner rod portion will always face down. And it is recommended to replace these gas shocks in pairs. The connection type on this shock is a 10 millimeter ball socket on both ends.

Total length, and the length is measured from the center of this ball socket to the center of this ball socket. So on this one it's going to measure right at 12 inches. Output force is 10 pounds.Last thing I'm going to show you is how this installs. So we'll zoom in so you can see the retaining clip. Basically you can see on this side is where it goes on to the ball socket.

What you want to do is when you remove your old one, what you'll do is take a screwdriver, put it under a retaining clip, pry it up, and that'll unlock it from the ball, and then you can remove your old one. And then when you go to put this new one on, the same way, you just put your screwdriver under, pry open the clip. Now, you don't want to remove the clip, just pry it up until it unlocks, and then set this over the ball socket and then push the clip right down to lock it into place. So it's a very simple installation. No need for any special tools.

But that should do it for the review on the Taylor Made 12-inch long steel gas shock..
