Getting there is half the fun, right? Not if you're being bumped, jerked, jammed, and pushed around from the chucking and road shock that occurs as you tow your fifth-wheel trailer or RV. And imagine the costly wear and tear on your trailer as it endures that rocky ride.
Put the fun back into your trip and ease the stress on your trailer by replacing your factory pin box with the Trailair air ride pin box. The internal air bag and built-in shock work together to cushion your ride, improve handling, and limit strain on both your truck and your trailer.
Standard pin boxes without any type of shock absorption transfer road shock to your trailer, resulting in potential damage to the trailer and an overall bumpy ride. But the Trailair air ride pin box absorbs shock and cushions your ride as you pull your fifth-wheel trailer. When you encounter uneven terrain on your trip or hit a pothole on the highway, the Trailair pin box compresses vertically, similar to how a pair of scissor blades closes in on each other. This compression transfers the road shock and vibrations to the internal air bag, saving your fifth-wheel hitch, trailer, or tow vehicle frame from enduring a rocky ride.
A built-in strut, or shock, controls the Trailair's compression so that the internal air bag doesn't burst. The strut also causes the pin box to appropriately rebound without any bounce, and positions it to be ready for the next bump in the road.
Simple Setup and Installation
First, simply remove your existing Lippert 1116 pin box from your trailer. The Trailair uses the same bolts that held on your original pin box so no additional hardware is required for installation. Plus, the Trailair pin box comes out of the box ready to be put on your trailer, so no assembly is needed. Because the Trailair is quite heavy, you should put it on an elevated surface or have a friend help you support its weight during installation.
The internal air bag should be inflated after the pin box has been mounted on your trailer. Using the air intake valve, inflate the air bag until the outer cylinder of the shock rises high enough to fully expose the yellow inflation indicator sticker.

Thanks
etrailer is and excellent site to order parts for your trailer. They walked me thru the part numbers so the pin box I ordered fit. No problems with the install and I can't wait to take my first trip with the new pin box.
Good packaging and received quickly.
GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The pin box works perfectly.
The Trailair pin box is a great product.
I installed it before a 700 mile trip and it does what it is intended to do. Etrailer was very helpful in selecting the correct pin box for my trailer.
Thank you.
love it worked so good, love Etrailer also great company
I just got the pin box, so I don't have it installed yet. It seems very well built. I wish it had a removable eye in the top so I could lift it with the crane that I have in the bed of my truck. No complaints though. Can't wait to try it out.
We needed a longer pin box and one that would give a better ride. Spoke with representative from etrailer who was very helpful. It has made a huge difference in ride and maneuverability.
Made a huge difference in the way to 5er tows now. Less bouncing and chucking, the coffee maker on the counter stays in place and things inside don’t move around anymore. It cut down on the stress to the 5er more than I expected, I can feel the difference in the driver seat also so it has been a very nice upgrade.
There is a smoother ride now, but it didn't eliminate the push/pull effect completely while going down the highway as I was told by another it would do. All in all I am glad I bought it.
Best ever. So glad I ordered this..easy to install and was just what I needed for our new 5th wheel toy hauler.
Worked out great on my 2011 Cameo, wouldn't own another 5th wheel with one.
The hitch is on a 2011 28' Coleman 5th, pulled by a '98 Dodge Ram 3500 dually. The ride is greatly improved. No more chucking and bouncing. I would have given 5 stars but the airbag won't hold air overnight.
Works great I can watch my golf cart trailer behind my fifth wheel
Great phone assist prior to ordering as always and product was just as described. Shipping was a little hard to track as UPS advised the unit was sitting in our town but unable to locate for 5 days. E-Trailer is always awesome to work with. Thanks to all your staff.
The trail air makes trailer ride so much better, very little chucking and a smoother ride it is very heavy but with a little help it was installed in no time. Thank you to etrailer for the fast shipping and great price.

It took about a month to get here but we are so glad it did. Thank y’all so much!
I just completed a 2800 mile trip after installing the Trail Air Air Ride pin box on my Solitude 5th wheel. I was able to install it myself from the bed of my pickup using a hydraulic bottle jack to lift it into position.
I previously made the same trip with the factory installed MORryde Cushioned Pin Box and the Trail Air provides a greatly improved ride. With the MORryde, I encountered several sections of concrete highway that set up a front-to-back oscillation which persisted across many miles. I didn't have that issue with the Trail Air.
I didn't order the Flex Air model that also included the flexible block because I was concerned the added height of that pin box would have been a problem. However, after installing the non-flex Trail Air I've found that the other one would have also worked out if I lowered my truck hitch an inch or two.
Also worth noting, this pin box is four inches shorter than the 1621 MORryde it replaced. However with a long bed truck I have no clearance issues and can still lower the tailgate when hitched up.
Really is a smooth ride after adding the air cushion pin box. Makes pulling a pleasure.
Hitch makes for a lot smoother ride than the factory one, I all so put air bags on the truck.
Rides very nice.
On installing the new hitch, there was a clearance problem. It was less than an quarter inch interference on the lower front part of the frame that the kingpin box bolts to that needed to be ground down for the pinbox to fit.
The next thing was the bag had a hole in it, so it needed to be aired up every day.
Got new one sent to me under warranty, witch was great.
But the video that showed how to replace it was for the wrong hitch.
I figured it out myself. Working good now.
