Exactly what I needed. Now able to add storage box and still pull tow Dolly.

Works great, pull out tow dolly with small SUV. Also pull 14’ flatbed trailer hauling my Kawasaki Mule.

Etrailer’s customer is actually customer service. There’s real people who are there to help. Kate helped me get my order the next day after I realized I accidentally switched the billing and shipping addresses on the order form.

Still works the same as when I purchased it.

by:

I contacted etrailer and spoke with Terri N. I had previously purchased on 3 separate occasions another brand of dual hitch (none from etrailer) which all bent when pulling my 2018 Jeep Wrangler behind our 2014 Fleetwood Bounder 35K Motorhome with a Hollywood bike frame carrying 2 Rad Power e-bikes. Apparently, we were using the wrong adaptor. She was VERY helpful with information, discouraging more than 1 hitch adaptor and recommended the 10,000 pound dual hitch receiver with a 2-4 in drop/rise. So far, it seems to be working fine. My only concern is that there is not enough clearance to fold up my Blue Ox tow bar while connected to the hitch. Also, the front of the Jeep bumper is VERY close to the bike rack upon turning the Motorhome.

by:

I first went with a ridged brand that had a recall the sent me a replacement (I used the original for approximately one year with no problems)the replacement hitch bent immediately and when I contacted ridged they blamed my driving habits since receiving the roadmaster I’ve added a heavier vehicle and a very heavy spare tire rack and no problems

by:

Very impressed with the quality of this hitch adaptor! I have purchased many items from etrailer and never disappointed!!!

by:

Wanted to be able to combine tow hitch and bike hitch. This required a 2" drop and a 4" rise with a 10K lb capability. Etrailer.com came thru with product, price, special free shipping, and great customer service. Ordered on Sun and received on Wed and installed on Thur and ready to go!

After 1 year this product is still working as day 1.

by:

I bought the dual hitch to allow me to carry my bike rack at the same time be able to leave my tow hitch attached. It works great!

Excellent option to add a bicycle rack when towing. Easy to use. Well made. I highly recommend.

by:

Indescribable/rugged a little on the heavy side but that’s what you need to take the abuse of pulling up to 10000#s

by:

Item is well made and will provide more flexibility with having a bike rack hitch and towing hitch at the same time.

by:

Its great, showed a lot of people. Every one i showed said they want one.

by:

This was a change to ensure it met the 10K tow capacity of the Roadmaster system. The bike rack and the tow system are a little close so considering another extension for the Roadmaster system to allow a little more clearance when turning.

by:

Love it !
Only one I`ve found that fits
my need with both upper & lower receivers having a strong tow rating.

by:

Great product, works as expected.

by:

Thank you . Easy order. Shipped fast. Product is strong. I always get a good experience with E-Trailer.

by:

Good quality and heavy duty. Will work great being able to tow my jeep with the bike rack on top.

by:

Great product and well built. Easy access on their website with fast shipment.

by:

Exactly what I needed. Our A class motorhome sits higher than our ex-C class did and angles the toad pull line too much, thus the 4" drop. When pulling our little fishing boat we had no where for our e-bikes, thus the 2" rise. All should be perfect now. Next problem is June and first of July is completely booked with family stuff. Can't test anything until July 12th, 2023. Going fishing. Will update if a problem but I cannot forsee one.

by:

Needed a drop hitch for the Falcon 2 tow bar to get within the specified 3" variance off level as specified by Roadmaster. Also, we wanted to have the second receiver for a hitch mounted bike carrier. Problems solved! Thanks etrailer!

8/23/2018

Still performing and doing the job of bicycle hitch and hitch for the Falcon II tow bar.

by:

This dual hitch receiver was exactly what we needed as it allows us to pull our tow vehicle behind our RV and also carry our bike rack between the RV and the tow vehicle. The dual hitch receiver is very heavy-duty and very well constructed.

Still working great one year later!!

by:

Received my 4 inch hitch adapter almost two weeks ago. Finally had the time to install and test it on my RV. The adapter fits great and the welds look very well done. The 4 inch drop along with my blue ox’s 4 inch drop are the perfect combination for my tow package. I plan to add a new bicycle carrier in the near future and this adapter was chosen with that in mind.

James

1 year usage and still great purchase for towing my Mini Cooper. I love the versatility of adding my bike carrier in front of the toad vice being on back of towed car.

by:

Our new double 10000lbs rating receiver is perfect on our class a. Now can 4wheel down tow our Honda crv and put our bike carrier on the same receiver with plenty of clearance for the sharpest of turns. Very well made nice piece of equipment. Great service and with pin purchase and receiver, free shipping.

1/25/2020

works great. use it all the time to haul our bikes and tow a car with our rv

by:

Product has worked great. I use it to tow a vehicle behind my Motorhome on the lower hitch and carry two heavy electric bikes on a bike carrier on the top hitch. I have put more than 15000 miles on it so far without any issues.

Leo S.

3/12/2020

Still working perfectly after more than 20K miles and more than a year on the road

by:

For my toad needed an extension for a 4" drop and a connection for a bike rack. No one locally had what needed. etrailer had the exact item I needed to haul my toad and bike rack on motor home for the rated capacity I needed. Quality built product. Delivered product exactly as shown on web site.

Mr. G.

E-trailer gets it right. After a year. No issues. Dont just buy, call and they can get you the right product for your application.

by:

Works exactly as advertised. Lets me put my bikes behind the coach and in front of the Jeep we tow. 8000 miles and no issues at all. Heavy duty unit will not disappoint!

by:

Reasonable shipping time on my drop hitch. The quality seems heavy and strong. Works perfectly for my needs, allows me to tow car behind coach and carry bike rack at same time. Very happy with this product and recommend purchasing from Etrailer.

  • What Dual Hitch Adapter Can I Add To My Pace Arrow RV To Tow Vehicle And Haul Cargo Carrier
Without knowing what your tongue weight is for your Pace Arrow RV I would not be able to tell you what exactly you can and can't tow. The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-4 has a tongue weight up to 400 pounds, using this adapter will also reduce your tongue weight capacity by 50%. For example if your tongue weight is 500 pounds it will automatically turn into 250 pounds. If your tongue weight is still high enough after the tongue weight cut you will be able to use the cargo...

  • Dual Hitch Adapter Recommendation that Can Tow Trailer
The Curt Dual Hitch part # D210 would be your best option. It has a ball mount platform on the bottom of it for towing a smaller trailer like you mentioned and a hitch opening up top for a hitch accessory like a ball mount. The towing capacity for the ball mount is 7,500 lbs.

  • RV Bike Rack Recommendation for Use When Flat Towing Vehicle
At the rear of a trailer or RV the ride quality is very rough when compared to the ride quality at the rear of a passenger vehicle. Reason being the suspension isn't as sophisticated and there is a longer distance between the rear axle and the rear of the trailer which exaggerates the movement of the trailer when hitting bumps. Because of that only a few bike racks were designed to be reinforced enough for that type of use. The Swagman Dispatch part # S44FR is a great RV approved bike...

I went out to the warehouse and measured from the center of the hitchpin hole to the back of the 4 inch rise on the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, part #RM-077-4. That measurement is 6-3/4 inches so it will be close, you will need to measure from the center of your hitch pin hole to the farthest out part of the bumper to determine if dual receiver will work for your towing setup. The measurement is the same to the back of the 2 inch rise opening. The overall length of this item...

  • Multipurpose Ball Mount Recommendation to Tow a Boat and Carry a Scooter
I have a solution for you, but the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-4 that you referenced is only designed for flat towing vehicles so I cannot recommend it for you. Instead you would want the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount part # D210. This will let you tow your boat with the ball mount and then use a carrier on the top hitch opening. The unit itself has a 7,500 lb towing and 750 lb tongue weight capacity while the top receiver has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity.

  • How To Carry Bike Rack Between Motorhome and Towed Vehicle
In order to place a bike rack between the motorhome and towed vehicle you'll want to use one of the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter for Tow Bars like part # RM-077-2 or part # RM-077-4. This will provide an extension in addition to the additional receiver tube opening. The Curt Hitch Extender part # C45795 can be used for flat-towing but like with any trailer hitch extender will reduce the weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50% or 3,500 lbs whichever is lower so it's not a...

We do have similar adapters that might work for your application but the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver # RM-077-4 that you referenced cannot be used to tow a trailer. This particular unit can only be used for flat towing another vehicle. For a dual hitch adapter with the same weight capacity that can be used to tow a trailer I recommend the Malone # MPG544. • Carrying Bikes at the Back of an RV While Towing a Car on a Tow Dolly at the Same Time
There are a couple of hurdles to overcome in order to be able to carry bikes while using a tow dolly at the same time. First there is the drop issue. The most amount of drop from an adapter that we have is 10-1/4 inches, # RM-048-10, which will still work even if it doesn't quite get down to 12 inches. There aren't any dual receivers that you can use that will also have enough drop and work with a tow dolly. So what I propose is to use the above 10-1/4 drop adapter with a different kind...

  • Will Using Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver RM-077-4 Reduce Tongue Weight Capacity of a Trailer Hitch
Roadmaster dual hitch receiver # RM-077-4 would not reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch when used as intended (flat towing while carrying an accessory). The tongue weight applied by a towed vehicle is minimal anyway so it is unlikely that the hitch tongue weight capacity would be exceeded anyway even if the capacity was reduced.

  • Dual Hitch Adapter with High Towing Capacity
The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-4 is a dual hitch adapter with a 10k weight capacity. The bottom receiver should only be used for flat towing and not for use with any type of trailer. If you are looking to tow a trailer then the part # D210 would be a better option as it has a ball mount platform and a hitch opening on the top of it. It also has a 7,500 lb capacity. I attached a review video for more info. The hitch opening has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity.

But there are other options. First, you do need an 8 inch drop so that is a given, use # RM-048-8. This adapter has a 10,000 pound gross towing weight capacity and 400 pound tongue weight capacity. Whether or not there will be interference when using a cargo carrier in the Roadmaster dual receiver # RM-077-4 depends on several factors. The size of the carrier, the length of the tow bar, the height and width of the vehicle all play a role in determining interference.
