The 3-function light we offer that would be a replacement for the Trucklite model 60 is the Optronics Sealed 3-Function Light, part # ST70RB.
This light require the 3-Wire Pigtail for Sealed Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Lights, part # A45PB. When installing this light the pigtail would be wired as follows: white would be attached to a clean, bare metal surface for the ground. The red wire is attached to the turn/stop circuit, and the black wire is attached to the tail light circuit, or the wire that holds the current when the headlights are used. The stop light and the tail light should be on different circuits, so both should not show current at the same time unless both functions are being used.
You may have a ground that is not attached properly, which can cause several problems. I recommend checking the wire on the vehicle and on the trailer to make sure there is no signs of damage. Check the connectors for signs of green or white corrosion which can cause issues as well.
When working with electrical connectors, I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This helps keep moisture and dirt out of the electrical connection and helps prevent corrosion.
If everything checks out physically, you can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2992 to check the wires on the vehicle and also on the trailer for function. I have attached a couple of helpful articles that explain trailer wiring and also troubleshooting you can check out.
