When you need to tow serious weight, this Curt Class V Commercial Duty hitch delivers. With a maximum gross trailer weight of 20,000 lbs and a 2,700-lb tongue weight rating — the same with or without weight distribution — it’s built for heavy-duty towing jobs. The 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" receiver opening gives you the size and strength needed for large trailers, campers, and equipment haulers.
You don’t need a shop full of tools to get this hitch on your truck. The fully welded receiver bolts directly to the frame using the included hardware kit — no cutting or welding required. Precision robotic welding ensures a perfect fit and consistent alignment for a secure installation, even if you’re tackling the job in your own driveway.
The sturdy square-tube design is made from steel finished with a black powder coat over a protective base coat for superior rust resistance. That layered finish helps the hitch handle road grime, salt, and moisture without corroding. It’s made for long-term use in all kinds of conditions while keeping a clean, solid look under the bumper.
The large 2-1/2" receiver opening works with heavy-duty ball mounts, extensions, and towing accessories rated to match this hitch’s high capacity. Whether you're hauling a large trailer, equipment, or specialized gear, the commercial-duty receiver size gives you flexibility for serious towing setups without adapters or compromise.

Didn’t want a hitch under the stock hit ch
Build quality is good, install was basic. Look is awful, most of these I have installed replace the factory hitch and install tight to the bumper, this one hangs below the factory hitch and looks out of place on the pickup. I considered sending it back but shipping would have been half what I paid for the hitch,
Great hitch, fit right up underneath factory one on my 04 3500 dodge. Little bit hard to get bolts in, recommend having small retractable magnet to help pick them up or retrieve if you drop inside frame.
Great hitch. Hangs lower than I would like but can’t complain since it’s a big hitch.
Very strong hitch. Simple, straightforward installation. One person install with ratchet strap and floor jack.
Easy install, it only took 30 minutes.
Fit great I cut the crossbar off old hitch. I needed the old brackets to mount the bumper back. Lost a bolt trailer sent the whole mounting hardware thanks
perfect fit and easy installation.
The only issue with the receiver hitch is that it dropped approximately 3" lower than the original hitch. Obviously a ground clearance and trailer hitch adjustment situation.
Installation is easily done in 30 minutes in the driveway. Some maneuvering is needed to get the Curt receiver past the factory receiver mounting brackets. There is a clearance issue between the Curt receiver and a factory crossmember on both sides which can be remedied by adding a 3/4" grade 8 washer between the receiver and the frame on each side. It is easiest to torque down the four vertical bolts before installing the two horizontal ones as they interfere with getting a socket on the two rear vertical bolts. Curt did a good job eliminating all failure points (bolts) on the receiver hitch itself and the welds are solid. Overall the Curt receiver is overkill in a good way and it would be hard for even a good fabricator to design one that is stronger. Included are pictures of how it looks on a relatively tall factory height 2009 Dodge 3500 DRW with a 6" Fastway drop and 1220 pounds of tongue weight.
The hitch took a few days to ship once it got to the final shipping location the package was damaged and shipped back to etrailer (ups shipment fault not etrailer) without me ever seeing the box. I called etrailer and they shipped a new one out within minutes. Talk about awesome. It arrived in a few days unharmed. As far as installation on my Dodge Ram 3500 dually, it was pretty straight forward. There was one issue. The most forward bolt had to have a rectangle steel piece, that must be fished through the frame rail. This step was a nightmare and I ruined one of my telescoping magnets. Overall great product, heavy and the finish looks great.
Excellent hitch! I've had a 35' bumper pull camper that weighs nearly 10,000 lbs loaded down and I pulled my brother's 8,000 lb camper with it along with my 4,000 lb SXS and it keeps its shape. As long as you add the right amount of shims and tighten all bolts, you shouldn't have any complaints. I did have to trim my aftermarket bumper in order for me to get a ball on, but the bumper looks better now in my opinion.
The hitch is great. I was seeing my stock class IV hitch bend slightly when pulling a 14,000 lb dump trailer with my Ram 3500 SRW so I decided to upgrade.
The reason for 1 less star is the documentation; you need more information to make the best choice. I originally ordered a different PN and it hung way too low bc is mounted under the existing hitch. To remove the stock hitch, you also remove the integrated mounting brackets for the bumper. I ordered a PN for a truck without a hitch and cut off the receiver tube with a torch. Also, I upgraded the 3 1/2" exhaust to 4" and now at idle the exhaust rattles on the much larger frame of the class V but a slight modification in planned to take care of that. Installation was fairly straighforward once I removed the original receiver tube.
Very happy with the increased capability and safety with large loads.
The hitch is great. What’s not is that the mounting kit comes with 1 of each piece. If you lose anything, the only solution offered is to buy a full hardware kit for $62+ I think that’s a rip.
Very heavy duty. Fit perfect and the instructions were super easy to follow. Have purchased multiple receivers from etrailer and they have never disappointed.
Wow, now this is a heavy duty Hitch Receiver, I was very doubtful that I would be able to install this hitch by myself but with the right equipment on hand, a floor Jack and some large Jack stands I was able to lift it into place, secure all the bolts and tighten everything up. This all took me a little over an hour to complete but I did it. I’ve already hooked my 26’ Cargo Mate 12K GVW trailer to it. One thing I was a bit disappointed with was that the 10” drop I purchased earlier from etrailer is now too low and close to the ground, if I invert it, the ball will be too high. My air bags may give me the necessary clearance from the bottom of the drop to the ground so I may be ok for my 2,200 mile drive south. Great product thus far, additional review post drive. One other item that puzzled me was the 2 extra shims which I had to assume went between the forward receiver and the frame due to the space that was left from a weld point on the frame

This fits a variety of different Rams so #8 on the diagram in the instructions says to use as needed.
Fits great, super easy install. Put it together by myself and and floor jack in less than an hour. Can’t wait to try it out
Exactly as advertised, easy installation. I purchased this hitch to avoid spending well over a thousand dollars on a torklift system. The torklift system is awesome if your towing a community behind your truck, i am only towing my motorcycle. There doesn't seem to be much in between the extremes for hitches that accommodate hitch extensions. As fore warned by the etrailer staff this hitch did not allow the use of my standard Torklift camper tie-downs. So i had to modify the tie-downs and have some welding done to compensate for the modifications. I am very happy with the installation and believe the hitch and extension will allow me to tow my cycle trailer with zero issues. Thanks etrailer!

Great product. Meets my expectations and needs
BEAST MODE ON! This thing is HUGE! I used to have a receiver integrated into a Ranch Hand bumper but found that massive bumper was only attached via the stock bumper brackets and we almost lost a 11k lbs trailer load recently. We upgraded to this massive CLASS V hitch and we are impressed. Super easy to install with a 2nd person.
My only complaint is it sits a little far back when used in combination with a Ranch Hand bumper such that the hitch was about 4" short of making it to the hole for the pin or for the pintle latch to open. So when you have a plasma cutter you simple just make it fit ;)

Love it. No problems since I installed it and Im a mad man on the road even with a heavy load. I never feel like the receiver is going to fail me. I havent gotten to use the 2.5 pintle hitch function yet but but I have no doubts it will work as advertised.
The hitch fit is impressive and it fits without removing the OEM 2" hitch. I didn't have any issues with the installation. I used ATV hydraulic jack to assist me with the installation.
This hitch is a beast. Extremely well designed and manufactured. Was a perfect fit for my ‘08 Ram 2500. Was able to mount directly beneath the existing factory hitch. Easy to understand directions too. Strongly recommend you have an extra set of hand to help lift into place.
Very nice hitch receiver kit for my 2003 Ram 2500 HD. Very well manufactured and complete hardware kit. Took me almost two hours from start to finish by myself. Hardest part is raising the hitch into place by yourself and the bumper bracket welded nuts that interfere with the rear part of the mounting brackets (shown with white arrows). The installation instructions do mention this issue. To solve, I removed the three bolts each per bracket on each side. Raised receiver up at an angle and attached frontmost hardware loosely. Then jacked the receiver up with floor jack until just touching nuts. I then pried prybars between the bumper bracket and receiver mounting flange until the receiver would clear the nuts and jacked up to frame contact. Removed prybars and installed remaining hardware and shims as required. Fishing wires supplied in hardware kit made the install of the four carriage bolts a breeze. Just awaiting my new hitch now!

Been a year and this receiver has worked great. I have pulled a few heavy loads with this receiver, zero problems! Highly recommend this product and store.
The hitch itself is built very stout and will work perfectly. My only complaint is the packaging the hitch was just wrapped in plastic and during the shipping process the finish was worn away in multiple places and will eventually rust. I’m planning on touching up the paint the hitch once it’s installed. I realize it’s challenging to pack for shipping. But for $500 i expected a little more care in the packaging.
Great hitch that has held up well to the coastal climate. Very well built and easy to install. Great purchase. I never worry about the hitch setup with anything I am towing.

One year and hundreds of towing sessions, this is a great setup. Powder coat is holding up great. Very happy with the product.
Install was easy for me to do by myself with the help of a floor jack and ratchet strap. Heavy duty hitch.

Hitch is working as it should, and I tow heavy daily. Hitch still looks terrible though. I get questions all the time asking whats wrong with it of if its broken. Operates perfect, just doesnt look that good.
