Question:
I want to flat tow my 2008 Jeep jk Rubicon. It was setup for flat towing by the original owner but the last owner removed the plates. There is an aftermarket bumper I believe. Theres a wiring harness that runs to the front grill and some wiring that appears to have been part of a brake controller at one time but the controller is gone. I want the nighthawk tow bar and blue ox plate. I want a permanently installed brake controller. What do you recommend so I can ensure this is going to fit and be compatible.

Hey Erik, how sure are you that you have an aftermarket bumper? To pick out the correct base plate kit we need to know what bumper you have. For example, if you have a standard bumper you would want the part # BX1126 or the part # BX1134 if you have an ARB stubby bumper. Then to adapt it to a Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar part # RM-676 you would need the adapter part # RM-031-5.
Then for a braking system that is permanent the best is the Demco Stay IN Play part # SM99251. This is the easiest to install and also is the most reliable. It is our installers favorite for those reasons.
