Roof Rack For 2022 Toyota Highlander L With No Rails And Factory Fixed Mounting Points

Updated 09/04/2026 | Published 08/31/2026

Question:

I have a 2022 Toyota Highlander L. This trim level does not have the roof rails that run front to back, but does have four fixed mount points. I am having a tough time figuring out if there are Thule or Yakima or other 3rd party systems that can mount to this roof. I dont want their system that clamps to the door frame. I want one that screws into the fixed mount points on the roof. If such a system exists, can you point me to the correct one? Thanks!

Hey Aaron, thanks for reaching out. Yes, there is a setup that does exactly what you are looking for. Since your 2022 Toyota Highlander L has the four factory fixed mounting points, you do not have to use a door-jamb clamp-style rack. I recommend the Yakima SkyLine system, which bolts directly into those factory mounting locations using vehicle-specific Landing Pads. Yakima specifically designs the SkyLine system for fixed mounting points like these. Here are the part numbers you'll need for your 2022 Toyota Highlander L:

- Yakima JetStream Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 50" Long - Qty 2 # Y00425

- SkyLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Fixed Mounting Points, Flush Rails, and Track Systems - Qty 4 # Y53TR

- Landing Pad 28 for Yakima SkyLine And Control Towers - Qty 4 # Y66VR

Those three parts combined make up the complete roof rack system.

What will you be using the roof rack for?

Jesse is correct. I have the exact setup he lists on my 2021 Highlander XLE with the four fixed mounting point. Works perfectly. I can put the racks on or take them off in about 2 minutes total, locking included. The slots in the Jetstream crossbars are great since whatever I'm mounting to them doesn't have to dance around the position of the towers below.
