Question:
Is there a reason this hitch is cheaper than some of the other options? I would like to add a hitch to my 2026 Toyota Highlander but I also don't want a piece of junk on there. Thanks for the advice.

Hey Aaron, great question! The Trailer Mate Trailer Hitch Receiver # TMT67FR is definitely a budget friendly option for a hitch on your 2026 Highlander. This is basically the economy line from Curt.
The welds are a little different (but will still do their job) compared to their standard hitch, and you're also missing the collar around the receiver. This particular Trailer Mate hitch actually has the same rating as the Curt # C99FR and other similar hitches so there is no disadvantage there. The finish isn't quite as resilient, but you could always touch that up and none of them ever hold up perfectly over time.
What will you be using the hitch for? If you plan on doing a lot of towing I would get one of the other hitches like the Curt. If you tow occasionally, and will use the hitch primarily for accessories like a bike rack, I think you're better off saving the money and going with the Trailer Mate.

Robin . I agree with everything you said. I installed my on the Highlander 2021 six cylinder, like new 23000 thousand miles. I put back all the covers parts and it looks like it was done at the factory. I did it myself and it make feel better. Trailer Mate is good choice.
