Hi Brian,

There isn't a dedicated custom light kit for the Kuat Piston Pro Bike Rack part # KU76ZR, but you can use a universal option like the Curt Auxiliary LED Indicator Lights part # C5320. The Curt Auxiliary lights can be installed on pretty much anything because it uses a durable adhesive to mount to the rack. I've included a photo for you so you can see what it'll look like with the lights attached. Your vehicle will need to have a 4-way plug for the lights to plug into, so they reflect the same functions as your taillights while driving. If you don't have a trailer wiring harness on your car, we can get you a custom harness to add one with a 4-way.

For the license plate, we have the Kuat License Plate Holder for Kuat Piston Pro part # KU69RR. This will mount to your Kuat Piston Pro bike rack and allow you to relocate your license plate, so it isn't covered by the rack. It comes with all the hardware and tools you'll need to get it installed as well.

Do you already have a wiring harness installed on your vehicle? If not, what is the year, make, and model so we can pick one out for you?

@BrianS Because the Curt lights are plugged into the 4-way they will show the left/right turn and brake signals as well as running lights. For a license plate light, you can use the Optronics LED Trailer License Plate Light part # LPL56CB. The LPL56CB can be positioned between the license plate and the Kuat holder, but the black wire will need to be connected to a power source to power the light and the white to a ground for it to work properly.

@ClaireH I have bought two sets of these lights. One in installed on my Kuat bike rack and it works great. the other set is on a cargo basket I use on the camper van and they work great there as well. these lights are a simple solution that so far are lasting, They glue seems to hold up well on my cargo basket where I have about 20,000 miles on this set of lights. Cheers Jim

Brian, I have the Kuat NV 2.0. This is my second Kuat rack that I have installed the 4 prong Curt led taillight kit on and both worked very well. The NV 2.0 gave me the opportunity to run the cables inside the center post which I really liked.

I bought the Curt taillight accessory for my older Thule 2-bike rack. I had etrailer install 2 LED assemblies so when the rack was down lights were horizontal and fully functional ie stop, turn and signal lights. This enhanced the rear of my car with better visibility for vehicles behind me. The second lighting set was on the bottom of my rack so when no bikes were being hauled and the rack was perpendicular to the ground my car had additional lights. You just have two connections on your bike rack one for “UP” and one for “Down”. The main connector from the car is tucked under the rear map when no bike rack is on the car. Thanks to etrailer for a great job.

I installed the Curt Auxiliary LED Indicator Lights part # C5320 directly on my OneUp bike rack so that when it is down my brakes and turn signals can be seen through up to 4 Mtn bikes with big tires. The lights work very well, install easily and have been in use for a couple years. I recommend the lights.
