Travel Trailer Camera for 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 Towing 2026 Brinkley I 280.

Question:

I have a 2026 GMC Sierra and I want to add a backup camera to my travel trailer that will connect to my in dash system. Can you recommend one? It is prewired for a furrion camera. It is a 2026 Brinkley I 280 trailer.

Hey Doug, congratulations on the new truck and trailer! That is a nice setup for sure. Unfortunately, the backup cameras aren't going to integrate with your dash cam system. Since you're already prepped for Furrion, and it is the best on the market right now, I recommend using the Furrion Vision S+ # FR57AD.

The camera will mount up to the shark fin on the back of your Brinkley for a simple installation. Then you will have the separate 7" monitor in the cab of your truck. If you want to get creative, we have seen some people print a mount for their rearview mirror so it is out of the way while you're towing. We also have the # FR64AD if you want to add the side marker cameras as well.

Where are you headed next with the Brinkley?

I recently upgraded to the S+ rear camera, side markers and 7” monitor. My Grand design was prepped for rear camera so the installation was easy. With the headlights on and plugged into my break light plug, it runs thru my 2021 Toyota Tundra. Unfortunately that doesn’t show up in my tru media display but with Bluetooth the 7” monitor works great and has a very clean picture with back up markers. I purchased a phone mount that locks down to my are vent on the dash. I have a second mount that holds the monitor when I need it. Just switch the mounts, easy. Great for trailing and backing in.

I have the Furrion Vision S+ installed on a 40' toy hauler. It has a nice clear picture on the Furrion monitor. I have noticed an occasional frame freeze that lasts just a second or two. By occasionally I mean once or twice an hour. (The camera this replaced would cutout and totally lose its connection fairly frequently so this is an awesome improvement.) I think you won't regret buying it if you do. I have 2026 Ford and checked to see if its camera options would see the Furrion, it didn't.
