Hey Frank, yes the TowSmart trailer hitch part # TS56VR is a confirmed fit for the 2026 Toyota Highlander. This is a really great hitch option as it is mostly hidden and has great towing capacities as well. Are you planning on doing some towing?

Will it interfere with the sensor under the rear of the vehicle?

@FrankP you'll still be able to activate the rear lift gate with your foot but you would need to kick to either side of the hitch opening.

Yes, just installed this hitch and wiring kit on a 2023 Highlander XLE. I love that the crossbar is hidden behind the bumper cover (only one of a few aftermarket hitches that do). The price is also very attractive on this model. The installation videos are accurate and very helpful if you follow them carefully. Good luck.

I put this on our 2021 highlander LE and the fitment was spot on. I would suggest having someone help hold it up while getting the bolts started. Video on their website helped greatly. Hauled a outback rack with Honda CT125 halfway across the US in the hitch. Highly recommend
