Replacing a Duo Therm AC on a 2004 Holiday Rambler Endeavor While Keeping the Existing Thermostat

Hi David!

Yes, you have a couple of options if you want to replace the rooftop AC on your 2004 Holiday Rambler Endeavor and keep your current Duo Therm thermostat and controls. We just need to figure out whether your existing AC has a 6 pin or 9 pin connector first. If you pop off the inside air distribution cover, you should be able to look up and find the wiring harness coming down from the rooftop unit.

If you have the 6 pin connection, you can use the 13,500 Btu Furrion part # FR26PR in white or part # FR76PR in black. If you have the 9 pin connection, you can use the part # FR82PV in white or part # FR62PV in black. If you do not see the connector behind the cover, let me know because the controller may be mounted up inside the rooftop unit and we can talk through that setup.

One thing I do want you to know before you put money into the older system is that these replacement options use R410A refrigerant. The RV AC industry is moving to newer R32 systems, so R410A equipment and parts are getting harder to find. If it were my coach and I planned on keeping it awhile, I would at least consider upgrading the whole setup to the Furrion Chill Cube part # FR67TQ instead.

I really like the Chill Cube because you get an 18,000 Btu R32 system with a heat pump and a variable speed compressor. Instead of the AC loudly kicking on and off at full blast, it can ramp up and down as needed. We have had customers brag about how quiet these are, and inside they are around normal conversation level. It is just a much nicer experience when you are trying to relax or sleep in the coach.

Are you mainly wanting to keep the original thermostat to make this an easier swap, or are you open to updating the whole system if it makes more sense long term?

Heather, My current unit has a 6 pin plug so I ordered the one you recommended. Do I need to order anything else like a wire adapter or different distrution box or will my work. My current system is ducted. Thank you

@DavidB Nope, the FR26PR comes with the 6 pin plug and you can use your dometic air distribution box.
