Question:

I have a 2014 StarCraft ar-one 15 rb and I am looking for a replacement fridge. The current fridge that is in the trailer is a Nor old n302r.

Hey Keith! To replace your Norcold N302R fridge, I recommend the Hotpoint RV Mini Refrigerator w/ Freezer item # GE43FR. This is a 2.7 cu. ft. refrigerator with a with a top freeze compartment. The door comes in a right open orientation but the hinges can be moved to the left hand side.

The Hotpoint RV Mini Refrigerator w/ Freezer item # GE43FR is powered by 120V AC. It does not have the propane powered feature. Unfortunately, we do not offer any with that option since the industry is moving away from them.

The Hotpoint RV Mini Refrigerator w/ Freezer item # GE43FR measures 27-7/8" tall x 19" wide x 17-3/4" deep so it's a little smaller but will definitely fit in the space your Norcold sits in.

I usually use my has generator to run the air conditioner. And I also have a Jackery solar generator than can power the entire trailer. I’m curious on how hard it would be to replace the fridge and the cost to have it installed, or is this something I could do on my own. Also would I need to equip my trailer with solar to keep the fridge going.

@KeithJ The Hotpoint RV Mini Refrigerator w/ Freezer item # GE43FR pulls the same 1.5 running amps when connected to 120V AC as your current Norcold N302R so if that's how you're powering it already you won't need to increase your solar setup. The Hotpoint RV Mini Refrigerator w/ Freezer item # GE43FR plugs directly into the wall so installing it is going to be pretty simple. If your Norcold N302R is connected to a propane line you would just need to shut the line off and cap it.

Keith, The refrigerator works great. It keeps my food and drinks cold. I like my beer cold. In the RV parks I use the park power. On the road I use a 700 watt pure sinewave inverter with its own deep discharge battery. Because of minimal battery drain from the refrigerator, I have used it in that configuration for 3 days with no issues. Works great.

@LarryT I’m curious when I remove my old fridge do I plug the new one in the same place as the old.
