Updated 05/06/2026 | Published 04/28/2026

Question:

Hi, I have a 06 hoilday rambler with the carrier ac and remote control for ac and heating. My AC quit wonrking and I need to find a replacement. Do you have a recommendation on a unit that would help me. Or a conversation kit available. Im trying to figure out my options. Thanks Mitch

Hey Mitch, I would recommend the Furrion Chill Cube kit part # FR69TD which is a complete kit that includes a new air box, remote, and thermostat. This will give you the quietest system out there that is also the coldest blowing and draws least amount of amperage. Due to the age of your current system there isn't a conversion kit that would allow you to use any component of it with what's made now due to refrigerant law changes that were made in January of 2025. How did you like the Carrier?

I liked it. Didn't care for the fact everything was controlled by a remote though. Will this kit run my furnace also or do I need to figure out that system out separate?

@MitchB The Chill Cube thermostat is supposed to work with furnaces but it's a little spotty and doesn't always work like it is supposed to. In situations like this you can reuse the old thermostat from old system for just the furnace.

@JamesonC The thermostat for my furance was integrated into my carrier control system. Everything was controlled from that same remote.
