Brake Controller for 2019 Ford Transit T350

Question:
I have a 2019 Ford Transit 350HD with factory trailer hitch and dual electrical plugs, but it doesnt have a brake controller. Ive read that if it wasnt installed at the factory, one cannot be installed, and also read that one can be installed. Id rather have a hard wired controller if one is available. Is this something that you guys can help with?

Hey Randall! You can definitely install a brake controller on your Transit. Any vehicle that has a 7-way on it can use a brake controller. I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR.
The Liberty is incredibly reliable, easy to use, and mounts anywhere in the dash. The main unit is hidden so only the control knob is visible. This means it doesn't take up space and it gives it an OEM look. It comes with a universal wiring harness so you will splice in for installation.

I installed the controller into my 2021 RAV4 Prime. The control knob went into the dash where there was a blank location near where the rear hatch button was. It did take a little modification with my dremel tool. Looks like it as a factory install now.
