Does etrailer Hitch Fit 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid and Allow Hands Free Liftgate

Question:

i have a 2025 honda CRV hybrid touring model canadian version with kick sensor you do kicking motion under the rear bumper to cause the trunk lift gate to open up... by installing the part e98848 will it still allow the sensor to work? Also, work with the hybrid battery? Also what wiring harness will work?

Hey Manning, the etrailer hitch part # e98848 that you referenced does fit the hybrid models and also will allow the hands free liftgate to still function but you will need to kick to either side of the hitch opening.

Then for trailer wiring you'd want the Tekonsha part # 118741 as it is the most reliable and easiest to install.

with regards to the 2025 honda crv hybrid touring... do i have to cut out the bumper underside for the sensor? you mentioned that the hitch will allow the hands free liftgat to still function but will need to kcik to either side? so you don't have to cut out bumper? ..right now i kcick in the middle. to open tail gate... Please advise and thanks. .. another reviewer posted a long review that he had to cut out bumper undersite....is this true? Thanks Manning

@Manning A small part of the lower bumper fascia does need to get trimmed to install the etrailer hitch part # e98848 that you referenced. This is pretty standard for hitches on modern SUVs though as most of the new bumpers wrap further under the rear of the vehicle. The kick motion will still be mostly in the middle of the rear bumper but it would be just to the sides of the hitch.
