Hi Chris!
To add a 7-way to your 2021 Jeep Wrangler JLU we'll need to start by adding in a wiring harness to give you wiring for trailer lights (4-Pole Flat). I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 56407. This harness is designed to plug straight into your Jeep's wiring behind your taillights without having to splice in.

Next, you'll need our etrailer Universal Installation Kit for trailer brake controllers part # ETBC7 which will give you both a 7-way and 4-pole flat along with 10-gauge wire and ring terminals to connect to your brake controller. The 4-pole from the vehicle's wiring harness will plug into the connector so only the backup lights, blue brake wire, and the black power wire will need to be spliced in. This full setup with will provide you with trailer lights that coincide with your vehicle and a secure brake signal being sent back to your trailer's brakes.

Do you already have a brake controller picked out as well? If you don't, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty part # RED52VR which is a knob that installs straight into your dash! It will work with trailers that have up to two axles and electric or hydraulic brakes. Because your 2021 Jeep Wrangler JLU doesn't have a wire to run the brake signal to the brake controller's red wire you will need to install the Roadmaster Stop-Light Switch kit part # RM-751490 to create this connection.

What's your first adventure you're going on with your Jeep and trailer? Any cool overlanding or off roading destinations you're planning to visit?
