Does GE Appliances HE Low-Profile RV AC Have Max Outdoor Operating Temperature

Updated 03/31/2026 | Published 03/26/2026

Question:

no mention of interior plenum on website. review video says got to have one but where do I find what the choices are as well as pricing? is there a maximum outdoor operating temperature? if the outdoor temp goes above rating does the unit struggle with cooling or does it actually shutoff?

Hey Joe! A plenum is just the space between the AC unit and the air distribution box. The GE Appliances HE Low-Profile RV AC w/ Heat Pump # GE33ZR is just the AC unit. You will need a complete system for replacement and can choose from the following based on whether you have a ducted or ductless setup:

-GE Appliances HE Low-Profile RV AC w/ Heat Pump - Kit for Ductless Install - 13,500 Btu - White - R32 # GE86RR

-GE Appliances HE Low-Profile RV AC w/ Heat Pump - Kit for Ducted Install - 13,500 Btu - White - R32 # GE76RR

As for temperature, these units don’t have a strict maximum outdoor rating. As it gets hotter outside, the A/C will just have to work harder and may not cool as efficiently. In extreme heat, it can cycle off due to internal protections, but it’s not a hard shutoff based only on outside temperature.

What kind of trailer/RV do you have?
