Question:
Hello. I need to replace old heat pumps on a 2005 Newmar Dutch Star. They are the old Dometic units. Will the GE heat pump be a direct replacement? Would there be any mods that will need to be done? Thanks.

Hey Jeff, welcome back! The GE Appliances Low-Profile RV AC w Heat Pump item # GE96RR would be a great option to replace your old Dometic setups. This kit includes everything you need. It has a 13,500 btu AC unit with a built in heat pump, an air distribution box that works with ductless setups, a control box, and a thermostat.
This system will connect to the existing wiring in your Newmar motorhome. You will need one of the GE Appliances item # GE96RR for each Dometic system you are replacing. These are single zone systems that operate separately of each other.
We also have the GE Appliances item # GE66RR, which is the same kit but in black.
If you have a ducted setup you'll need the GE Appliances HE Low-Profile RV AC w/ Heat Pump item # GE46RR in black or item # GE76RR in white.
If you have any additional questions, go ahead and click on the box that says Add Comment and I'll be happy to answer them.
