Question:
2020 Gulfstream Vista Cruiser 19RBS. I need to replace the existing electric jack and am looking at the Phoenix jack. All the install videos show connecting directly to the battery but my existing jack power wire connects to a relay that ties it in with the camper’s electrical system, ground wire attaches to the trailer frame. I would like to keep this same wiring configuration because when I store the camper at home I remove the batteries and the jack will still function. Can I do this with the Phoenix jack?

You sure can Al and thanks for the picture! The Phoenix Electric Trailer Jack item # UF38-944040 can indeed be wired to match your Gulfstream's current setup. So long as the relay you're connecting the power wire to provides a 12v current and the ground is a firm clean connection to bare metal this will work in substitution to wiring the jack directly to your battery.
Please note you will need to use nothing smaller than 10 gauge wire.
When you remove your batteries do you power your trailer from your home?

Hello Jerred. Thanks for the reply. Living here in the cold northeastern US I remove the batteries every winter and keep the camper on shore power. I’m running two 12v lithium iron phosphate batteries wired in parallel so removing them helps to protect them from the constant freeze/thaw cycles that are typical of winters around here. Thanks again!
