Suspension Enhancement To Use With Air Bag Kit On 2024 Chevy 2500

Question:
Timbren spring vs the sumo in the rear of a 2024 Chevrolet 2500 HD. I already have the air bags over my leaf springs which work well. Just want a little more support when loaded with a lot of tongue weight from a 30’ bumper pull trailer

Hey Ron, thanks for reaching out. Since your truck already has air bags installed, you actually won't be able to add Timbrens or SumoSprings since they would install in the same location. If you want to add additional support beyond what the air bags provide, your best bet would be a leaf spring helper like the Hellwig Load Pro 35 Heavy Duty Helper Springs # HE93XR. This installs on top of the leaf spring pack and gives you 3,500 lbs of load leveling support.
The air bag kits I am seeing for the 2024 Chevy 2500 all sit next to the spring back right under where the factory bump stop would be. So as long as this is what you have, the Hellwig helper will work great for adding support without obstructing the air bags.
What kind of RV are you pulling? Have you tried adding a few extra PSI?
