Solution for Reducing Added Rear Height on 2016 Silverado After Installing SuperSprings Stabilizer
Updated 02/27/2018 | Published 02/26/2018 >
Question:
The super springs that add over the rear existing springs, to they increase the rear height of the truck? I currently have the super springs #SSA13MXKT installed on my 2016 Chevy Duramax Diesel truck....they are set on the middle hole 3 hole option front and back. The rear of the truck now sits 3.25 inches higher than the front not sure what the difference was before adding.......I tow a fifth wheel camper, but the truck is sitting up too high in the back to level the camper. Will moving to the lowest hole settings reduce the height of the back of the truck when adding the camper? Currently it drops about an 1.25 inches with the camper weight.....I would like it to a little more...... Is there any other way to keep the springs in and reduce the height? Thanks you very much for any help of advice you can give! Regards

I spoke with my contact at SuperSprings regarding the Custom Suspension Stabilizer # SSA13MXKT that you recently installed on your Chevy Silverado 2500. He did say that since you currently have the brackets set on the middle hole, moving them to the lowest hole setting should definitely help reduce the pre-load tension and drop the rear of the truck down a bit. I recommend starting with this to see how much of a difference you get.
My contact also stated that there will be a breaking/settling-in period for the stabilizer after the initial installation. He recommends keeping your truck well loaded for about a week to quicken this process up a bit, thus allowing the stabilizer to relax a bit more to get the rear of the truck back down toward the factory height. Otherwise, the stabilizer should completely settle in after about a month (if you are not loading the truck up with cargo).
If this does not resolve the issue, please let me know and I will be happy to help you further.
