Availability of Ground Clearance Measurement on Curt Hitch for 2025 Toyota Tacoma SR5

Updated 03/17/2026 | Published 03/05/2026

Question:

What is the distance from the center of the front receiver to the ground on a 24-25 Toyota Tacoma SR5?

Hey Eric! The ground clearance measurement for the # C55RJ is not something that Curt measures or provides as part of their specs. The only way for us to get this is if we have a chance to install it ourselves. This hitch wasn't available until recently, so we don't have an installation video yet with that measurement.

We do send out messages to other customers with the hitch on these answer pages, so if someone who already installed it is feeling kind they might jump in here and add that measurement in the comments. It is also worth mentioning that this is the only front hitch available for your Tacoma at this time.

What will you be using the hitch for?

I just measured 9-3/4" from the center of the hitch to the ground, however I have the 2025 Tacoma TRD off-road. I know that's not exactly what you are asking since I have a differnt model, but hopefully it will help. One other note, depending on what you are using the hitch for: I am using it for a Meyers HomePlow with a 4" drop/extender adapter to be able to connect. The weight on the homeplows is very significant, so you will see extra sag.

Hi Eric, I have a 2025 SR5 and I also use the front hitch to attach a Meyer snow plow.. Works great.. Measurement from the ground to the center of the hitch is about 9.25"... I have a photo of a tape measure in front of the hitch if that would help, but there's no apparent easy way to attach it here.. Best of luck, -Keith

@KeithS thank you for the measurement! I wish we had a way to attach pictures in the comments, I can't even add it myself if you sent it to me. The measurement is enough though, thanks again.

@RobinH, no worries... and Eric, if it helps the measurement to the bottom of the receiver opening is 8" . Near as I can tell, that's the lowest point of the installed hitch...

@KeithS Thanks Keith! I'm curious if the Meyer plow is light enough for the standard suspension? Thanks for the great info.
