Features to know about

Full Hydraulic Power with In-Cab Control

HomePlow Pistol Grip Control.

When the storm hits, you stay in control. Forget jumping into the cold to manhandle a manual blade; you can control this blade from the comfort of your cab with the wired pistol grip. Hydraulic power makes it easy to lift, lower, or angle for drifts, piles, and packed snow. It's fast, responsive, and built for homeowners who like to be in command of their own equipment.

Quick-Link Mount and Roll-In Setup

HomePlow wheels let you roll your plow all over your garage.

The set up takes seconds. So when the forecast calls for 6" and those first flakes start coming down, you can hitch up before they stick. With the caster wheels installed, roll the plow to your truck, line up the receiver, and slide the lift frame into place. Pin it, connect the wiring harness, and you're ready to plow. When the storm passes, wheel it back to storage until the next one hits, and take comfort in knowing you'll be ready before winter's next surprise.

How Much Snow Will It Handle?

This plow is built for storms. It will clear 8" - 10" of snow at a time, but the trick is timing. People often wait for the storm to stop dropping flakes before they go out to clear it. But snow consistency can change as the storm lingers, so the sooner you start - even if it's still coming down - the easier the job.

What Happens If You Hit Something While Plowing?

If you catch a buried object, the blade tips forward and glides over it instead of stopping you cold. Once it clears, it snaps right back into place so you can keep moving. It's built to protect you and your truck when your driveway fights back.

  • Do Meyer Snow Plows Require Lots Of Hardwiring In Truck? What About Wireless Options?
Allen, not much at all - it really depends on which HomePlow or WingMan you go with. The Meyer HomePlow # ME28FR comes with a wired auto-angling controller, but it can also run with Meyer’s optional wireless kit if you’d rather skip the cable altogether. The Meyer HomePlow # ME88FR includes only the wireless setup from the factory, so it raises, lowers, and auto-angles with just a handheld fob - no wiring through the firewall. If you step up to the higher end hydraulic HomePlow # ME53FR...

  • Meyer Snow Plow - Differences Between The Models In The Lineup
Greg, great question. The HomePlows # ME28FR and # ME53FR are for residential or light-duty use - 22" tall blades, lighter frames, and smaller hydraulic pumps. The HomePlow # ME88FR is the same as those, aside from only having an 18" tall blade. The WingMan # ME35FR steps up to 26" tall military-grade steel blade, dual hydraulics, and integrated LED lights for heavy daily work. Another difference is the controller setup. The # ME88FR is budget friendly and just comes with a wireless controller...

  • Complete Snow Plow With Front Hitch And Suspension Upgrade For 2018 Ford F150 4WD Plowtruck
Caleb, you’ll be happiest with the HomePlow Hydraulic # ME53FR or the commercial-grade WingMan # ME35FR. Both give you full in-cab control for raise, lower, and angle. The WingMan just adds a thicker 26" blade and dual hydraulic cylinders for heavier duty setup and more control. If you plan to use it quite a bit, the commercial one is worth the extra money. Either one fits right into a 2" receiver (if you don't have one yet, the Curt # C31083 would work fine). On a half ton truck, it's...

  • Which Meyer Snow Plow Is Best For RAM 1500 Plowing Gravel Road On Farm?
Denise, the HomePlow # ME53FR with full hydraulics is tailor-made for that kind of setup - more lift power and smoother angling for longer passes. If you’d rather keep it simpler, the electric # ME88FR works great too at a more budget-friendly price. Both mount to a 2" front receiver. For a half-ton like yours, I suggest adding front suspension helpers to keep the truck level when the plow’s raised. You can find those, along with the proper receiver-and-plow combo, in our FitGuide. How...

  • Recommended Front Hitch and Snow Plow for a 2022 Chevy Colorado LT
Yes, it does Bruce. The Meyer HomePlow Residential Hydraulic Snowplow item # ME53FR will indeed work with your 2022 Chevy Colorado LT. It's going to add around 400 lbs to the front end so beefing up your front suspension is going to be a good idea. You could install stiffer shocks like item # ARB56XV but I've got a better option. Assuming you're not driving around with a snow plow a majority of the year, I recommend installing the Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops item # TABSGMFCC. These...

  • How Easy Is It To Remove The Meyer HomePlow Snow Plow From The Front Of A Vehicle?
Linda, removal’s quick on the Meyer HomePlow # ME28FR; just lower the blade, pull one pin, and the caster wheels on the HomePlow models let you roll it into a corner of the garage. Even the heavier duty # ME53FR setup disconnects in under five minutes. If floor space’s tight, Meyer sells replacement casters separately so you can park it sideways against a wall. Do you have a concrete pad or gravel floor for storage?

  • Does Meyer HomePlow Residential Hydraulic Snowplow Come With Remote
Hey Vicky! Yes, the Meyer HomePlow Residential Hydraulic Snowplow # ME53FR includes the wired pistol grip controller. See the attached picture. You can use the plow on your 2003 Silverado as long as you have a front hitch with a 2" receiver.

  • Meyer HomePlow ME53FR: Comparing Float Mode vs. Down Pressure
Lisa, the HomePlow # ME53FR uses a true hydraulic lift and power-angling system, so it can apply real down pressure when you hold the lower control. That’s the main advantage over the electric HomePlows like the # # ME28FR and # ME88FR, which only lower by gravity. When you hold the down button on the # ME53FR pistol-grip controller, it pushes hydraulic fluid into the lift cylinder, pressing the blade against the surface. That gives you better scraping on packed snow or thin ice, something...

  • Is There A Down Pressure Setting For Scraping Snow And Ice With Meyer Snow Plows? Or Just Float Mode
Amanda, great question. The electric HomePlows # ME28FR and # ME88FR use a “float” mode that lets the blade follow the surface contour but doesn’t apply down-force. It simply lets the plow rest on the ground, using gravity. The hydraulic HomePlow # ME53FR and WingMan # ME35FR plows give you hydraulic pressure downforce when you hold the lower button - handy for compacted snow or ice that's sticking to the road. Are you planning to use it mainly on residential pavement?

  • How High Does Meyer Snow Plow Lift Off The Ground? Using On Bumpy Sloped Driveway
Kyle, the HomePlows like # ME53FR lift about 8" in travel mode, while the WingMan # ME35FR lifts closer to 10" thanks to its larger hydraulics. That’s plenty to clear curbs or the edge of your apron. If your slope’s steep, you’ll appreciate the float feature - it lets the blade ride level without digging in. Is your drive asphalt or gravel? That helps determine whether to add snowshoes or not so it doesn't dig into the ground on the HomePlow models. The WingMan doesn't have shoe options...

  • Is There A Snow Plow Option For A 2002 Toyota 4Runner?
Hi Angelo! From what I could find, the lack of snow plow options is likely due to there not currently being any front mount hitches available for a 2002 Toyota 4Runner, though I can't say that with 100% certainty. Was there a part number on the hitch you found, by chance? Wondering if it's something that was offered a while back, but isn't anymore. That said, if you do have a front mount hitch for your 4Runner, you can technically use the Meyer HomePlow Residential Hydraulic Snowplow...

  • What Is The Best Hydraulic Snow Plow For Half Ton Truck Without Costing As Much As Commercial Plow?
Connor, the Meyer HomePlow # ME53FR really is that “sweet spot” between residential and commercial. It’s a hydraulic snow plow for half-ton trucks - so you get professional-grade control without the extra weight or cost of a commercial setup like # ME35FR. The 22" tall steel blade, hydraulic lift, and in-cab power-angling controller collectively let you push snow like a pro while staying within Meyer’s half-ton weight rating. It also uses the same Quick-Link 2-inch receiver mount, so install...

  • Which Snow Plow For Snow Removal For Airbnb Properties With Pickup Truck?
Jordan, you’re right on the edge where upgrading makes sense. The Meyer HomePlow # ME53FR will handle multiple driveways fine - it’s hydraulic with full in-cab control - but the commercial grade WingMan # ME35FR adds faster cycle times, thicker steel, and LED lighting for early-morning or late-night work. Since Meyer limits the HomePlow to 1/2-ton and smaller vehicles, if you’re running a 3/4-ton or 1-ton truck, definitely go WingMan. Either way, our FitGuide can show which mount kit matches...

  • Best Front Hitch For Meyer Snow Plow On 2024 Jeep Gladiator
Hey Stephen, thanks for reaching out. Both the front hitches you mentioned, the Curt # C31086 and the Draw-Tite # 65079 will fit your 2024 Jeep Gladiator. The hitches are virtually identical - just a different manufacturers version of the same custom-fit hitch. So I recommend going with whichever one costs less, which right now appears to be the Draw-Tite. The front hitch is the only other thing you will need here. Aside from that, the Meyer HomePlow Residential Hydraulic Snowplow # ME53FR...
