Air Bags and Cradles for 2024 Toyota Tacoma

Updated 10/20/2026 | Published 10/16/2026

Question:

Hi I am looking to but the firestone airbag kit for my 2024 tacoma part number F83VV. I have a camper shell and plan to take the truck on some trails so I am learning about cradles. Can you tell me if this kit is compatible with cradles and what ones to buy? Is installing bags with cradles any more difficult? Thanks Connor

Hey Connor! Firestone doesn't offer cradles for the Ride-Rite Air Springs # F83VV, and I wouldn't recommend adding aftermarket cradles since Firestone hasn't approved them for this kit.

For your 2024 Toyota Tacoma, I recommend the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 # AL45DQ instead. You can pair these with the Air Lift Air Helper Spring Cradles # AL59DQ, which allow the suspension to fully extend when you're off-roading without pulling on the air bags.

Installation is a little different since the cradles replace the lower air spring mounting arrangement, but it isn't significantly more difficult than a standard air bag installation. I also recommend adding an air compressor like the WirelessAIR # AL74000EZ. This will allow you to adjust the air bags no matter where you go from the cab of the truck.

What trails are you headed to?

There's an awful big price difference between the firestone kit and the air loader kit. I dont really have the extra money. Is there any significant difference

@ConnorE the Firestone air bags are actually superior, but they don't have an option for cradles. You can look into something like Daystar cradles and pair them with the Firestone air bags but it will void the warranty.

@RobinH ok one last silly question am I overthinking needing the cradles? I just know I will be going off road in places like canyon lands bears ears Bryce etc.

@Connor not a silly question at all! It really depends on the terrain you'll be driving through. If you're planning on crawling over large rocks or tackling trails where your suspension will see a lot of articulation, I'd recommend the cradles. For maintained dirt roads and lighter off-roading, you'll be fine without them. The Firestone kit will work great for that kind of use.
