Troubleshooting Furrion Thermostat Not Showing Heat Mode With Dometic Furnace

Updated 02/04/2026 | Published 01/27/2026

Question:

I have a 2022 Furrion A/C system and a Furrion Thermostat and the Furnace is a Dometic Furnace. On the thermostat on the modes when I scroll through menu after the cool it skips on to the next setting which is dry mode. The Furnace mode does not show at all, the heat has never been used since I bought it brand new. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out. That usually comes down to the thermostat not seeing the furnace circuit, especially with a mixed-brand setup like a Furrion A/C and thermostat paired to a Dometic furnace. The Furrion thermostat will only show Heat/Furnace mode if it detects a furnace signal on the correct control wire. If it’s skipping from Cool straight to Dry, the thermostat thinks it’s an A/C-only system. Since the furnace has never been used, it’s very possible the furnace wire was never connected at the thermostat or is landed on the wrong terminal.

I’d start by pulling the thermostat off the wall and checking that the furnace wire (often labeled W or Furnace) is actually connected and tight, then confirming that same wire is connected at the furnace control board and that the furnace fuse is good.

Have you had a chance to check behind the thermostat yet? Do you know if the furnace ever ran during the dealer’s pre-delivery inspection?

My suspicion is the dip switch in the controller inside the A/C has never had the furnace switch turned on There will be I think 5 switches that set zones Heat pump Furnace Heat strip etc The furnace switch has to be on

Press FAN and Temp down button simultaneously for ~ 10 sec. This resets the thermostat!

My unit trips the 20 amp Breaker sometimes, seams to be a very hard start. I have installed new breaker, with no luck, and went with a higher amp breaker and it still tripes.

@Russell Sounds like your AC unit is pulling too many amps and usually when we see this it's a motor or capacitor issue. Furrion ACs have a 2-year warranty so if you are still within 2 years from purchase that might be worth pursuing.
