Question:
Am wanting to tow my 2024 Maverick Hybrid behind my 34 Holiday Rambler Vacationer F-53 chassis pre-wired for towing. I would like to use the Demco DM77YV base plate I think it is the cleanest-looking installation with a Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar. Any issues with that combination? What additional parts will I need adapters, wiring kits, etc.? And would also appreciate thoughts on easy supplemental braking system - the Maverick is my daily driver. Thanks!

Hey Alan! The Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV won't have any issues working with the Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain Tow Bar # RM-676. You will also need an adapter # DM9523062 to make the two compatible. For the rest of the parts I recommend the following:
-Roadmaster Accessory Kit for Nighthawk Tow Bars # RM-9284-2
-Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo # DM86VR
-Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25
The Nighthawk comes with a 6-way to 7-way adapter, and a 6-way connector, so the accessory kit completes the rest of the wiring. It also includes a cover, locks, and their silicone spray for maintenance.
The Stay-IN-Play Duo is a permanent installation so it won't be in the way when you're driving it, and there won't be any setup each time you tow. It comes with a monitor for your Holiday Rambler Vacationer as well.
The only other thing you may need is a high-low adapter like the etrailer High-Low Adjustable Adapter # e52ZV to keep your setup level. I linked a help article further down on this page which explains how to measure and choose the correct adapter.
Any big trips planned once you get your Maverick set up for towing?

Hey Alan, how did your setup with the Demco base plate and Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar turn out on your Maverick? Did the Shadow 2 braking system work as smoothly as you hoped for your daily driving? Your update could make it easier for others planning a similar flat tow setup.
