Parts Needed to Tow 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid With Demco Base Plate and Roadmaster Nighthawk

Updated 01/07/2026 | Published 01/05/2026

Question:

Am wanting to tow my 2024 Maverick Hybrid behind my 34 Holiday Rambler Vacationer F-53 chassis pre-wired for towing. I would like to use the Demco DM77YV base plate I think it is the cleanest-looking installation with a Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar. Any issues with that combination? What additional parts will I need adapters, wiring kits, etc.? And would also appreciate thoughts on easy supplemental braking system - the Maverick is my daily driver. Thanks!

Hey Alan! The Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV won't have any issues working with the Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain Tow Bar # RM-676. You will also need an adapter # DM9523062 to make the two compatible. For the rest of the parts I recommend the following:

-Roadmaster Accessory Kit for Nighthawk Tow Bars # RM-9284-2

-Curt RVi Series Shadow 2 Flat Tow Brake System # RVI94FR

The Nighthawk comes with a 6-way to 7-way adapter, and a 6-way connector, so the accessory kit completes the rest of the wiring. It also includes a cover, locks, and their silicone spray for maintenance.

The Shadow 2 is a permanent installation so it won't be in the way when you're driving it, and there won't be any setup each time you tow. It comes with a wireless monitor for your Holiday Rambler Vacationer and also includes a charge line.

The only other thing you may need is a high-low adapter like the etrailer High-Low Adjustable Adapter # e52ZV to keep your setup level. I linked a help article further down on this page which explains how to measure and choose the correct adapter.

Any big trips planned once you get your Maverick set up for towing?
