Hi, what’s the difference between a roadmaster base plate and a demco one for a 2024 ford maverick

The main difference between the Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM77YV and the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM97RR is just going to be the brand really.

They're both very similar in the way they install, with Roadmaster being a bit more challenging requiring some trimming on certain models, they both have a removable drawbar, and they both use a direct connect style attachment.

If it were me I'd go Roadmaster just for the fact that they've been consistently a household name in the industry with great products to back it up.

If you're needing a complete flat towing setup you're also going to need a set of tow bars # RM-522, a braking system # BLU37TR with a brake lite relay kit # RM-88400, and a wiring harness # RM-152-98146-7 with the charge line kit # RM-156-25.

Thanks, I see in some pictures that you don’t remove the air or cooling fins in front,you just have to trim the sides to mount it, I have a 2024. Is that correct? Thanks

@BryceD The install video shows that the shutters get removed but I saw pictures with them still there.can you install with out trimming them out? And the center piece? Thanks

@RonaldS In the instructions for the Demco # DM77YV, they only show that the air dam needs a chunk cut out and that the shutters would remain the same. The Demco has a bit more of a slant outwards compared the the Roadmaster # RM97RR, so in theory you shouldn't need to trim out as much of the air shutters for the installation.
