If you like your vehicle to keep a clean, factory look when you’re not towing, this base plate kit does exactly that. The tabless design hides everything behind the bumper so there’s no crossbar or brackets sticking out. The tabs stay on your tow bar instead of the vehicle, keeping the front end uncluttered. Snap-in polyethylene covers seal up the receivers when you’re not hooked up, keeping out dirt and debris so the arms slide in and out smoothly every time.
Getting ready to tow doesn’t need to be a hassle. The removable arms insert into the receivers, twist to lock, and secure with a pull pin—simple as that. When it’s time to disconnect, just pull the pin, twist again, and remove the arm. It’s quick and repeatable, even if you’re setting up alone. For setup reference, the distance between brackets is 19-1/2" and bracket height is 18".

This base plate bolts directly to the chassis with no welding required. Its sturdy, dependable steel construction spreads towing forces evenly across the frame to help reduce stress on the suspension. The kit includes all necessary hardware for a solid bolt-on fit that gives you confidence for long hauls.
Already have a tow bar you like? You can keep it. This base plate works directly with Demco, etrailer, and Blue Ox tow bars—no adapter needed. Roadmaster users can add one of several adapters (DM9523036, DM9523062, DM9523014, or DM9523023) to make it fit their specific tow bar model. An included electrical bracket lets you mount a round connector plug neatly on the front end for your wiring hookup.
You don’t need a shop to get this done. The kit is designed for simple bolt-on installation using basic tools—no welding required. Clear instructions walk you through each step so you can handle the job yourself over a weekend. An electrical bracket is included for easy wiring plug mounting once everything’s bolted up and ready to tow.

I use only Demco baseplates as they are the only brand that mount with no cutting or drilling. The Excalibar tow bar is very well made and handles my Jeep Gladiator with ease. It's also very simple and easy to hook and unhook. The excellent "how to" videos from etrailer sure helped me make the correct purchase decision.
Was able to install without issues using 2 washers between base plate and the upper brace and none on the bottom, otherwise followed the video. Works great!
Just installed the Demco Tabless Base Plate and included 6 pin wire bracket. It was very straightforward and anyone who is a little mechanically inclined, can do it with ease. The etrailer video was incredibly helpful. I followed it step by step and had no issues. I love that it is a direct bolt-to-frame base plate and does not need any modifications. I spent a bit more time cutting out the gravel guard to form-fit the tabless connectors. The adapters are sleek and blend right in to the front end. Love how it turned out.
I would give the tow bar a minus numberif possible. I bought it in hopes of not cutting up the shutter housing on my 2025 Maverick Hybrid. Well the bolt holes did not line up. I spoke with the Demco Engineers about the issue and they said that I must have a bent frame. My vehicle was two weeks old from the manufacturing date and all the rest of the pieces in the front assembly fit perfectly from Ford. I lad less then 200 miles on the unit. I made some cuts in the bar to allow more movement with the approval of Demco and still I could not get the front facia on. I called installers and they said they just cut away whatever is needed to get a tow bar on. None that I talked to at 3 places had as yet done this model installation. E trailer accepted my return and I put a roadmaster bar on.
I gave this 5 stars based on design and durability.Installation, however, is somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. Installation can be a real challenge, and even the best back yard mechanic might be a tad frustrated. The biggest problem in installation is NOT installing but getting ready to install. Removal od the tow bar hooks took more time than installing the base plates. We're talking a 2018 F-150 XLT Sport 4X4 crew cab. The pics show the finished product and the location of the safety can\bles.
I’m still waiting for my truck to arriv e.
Found it at a better price Wish I would have seen it earlier it would have saved me 130.00
2024 Maverick. Fits just like advertised. Would recommend.
I don’t know who said this could be installed without cutting the facia (see answered questions…one says no cutting required and. Another says you don’t have to remove louvers), but on my 2024 Maverick Hybrid, there were two types of cuts required. First, the air dam has to be trimmed, but that is actually already in the instructions, so as long as you pre read those, you know about that. But for me, I HAD to remove 2 sets of the louvers (4 pieces total) which in reality was only a 1 hour add on once i knew it had to be done, but the big problem is that once the tow bar was installed (with no shining washers trying to clear the louvers), my facial would not reinstall. The holes along the bottom were about 1/2” from being able to be rebolted. I found the vertical bars in the grill that goes in front of the tow bar were hitting on the tow bar itself as well as the welds on the front. I had to cut some of the vertical bars and force the facia into place. It’s on, but I’m not happy that it is still under stress because the bar sits too far forward. That said, there is no way to make the bar fit any farther toward the rear. It was already pressing hard against the louvers before i removed them…so really no play there. Also, i was not happy that Demco didn’t bother to provide any kind of usable bracket for use with a breakaway, a wiring harness plug, or anything like even their own Air Force one. I had to fab brackets for AF1 and breakaway. I mounted the lighting bracket on the facia with a handmade backing plate to add rigidity. I love the way the install video just causally skips over installing any of those required components. Well, once the bar is in place, and the facia forced back on. It looks fine except the ugly low placement of the lighting plug (which I hope never finda a parking block) and the lower grill looks distorted because of the press fit (if you notice it anyway). Guess we’ll see how it looks after a month or so of towing. For comparison, I did the install of a baseplate (my first install oaf a base plate ever) on my Wrangler in 5 hours all in with wiring included, but not including the AF1 components. This one took me about 12 hours mostly because of the too tight fit which mandated removing and reinstalling the baseplate a few times to see what needed trimmed, needing removal of the louvers (I really didn’t want to do that…but in the end no other solution would have worked because if i shimmed the plate out to clear the louvers, I would have had to cut out most of the lower grill to accommodate that), and then having to trim the grill pieces to get it to o back together. This was not a hard install, just a lot of trial and fails…at least in the end it fit together. Maybe I was working slowly…but it really did not just fit right out of the box even knowing about the air dam trimming needed.
A bit pricey but couldn't get the e-trailer version (none in stock). Fit the 2024 Maverick perfectly.
Just as advertised and it came two days early. All parts included as well as instructions with color pictures. Anxious to get it installed on my 2023 Maverick.

After a year the plate has worked well with no issues.
Great product and very simple to install, took approximately 2-3 hours. No cutting and perfect fit
Excellent product! The tab spacing is ideal distance apart and provides a strong and sturdy mounting point for the tow bar. The vehicle's cooling shutters are left intact and requires only minimal cutting of plastic trim. The only issue i had was the tight fit,I had to hammer the brackets wider in order to make it slide into vehicle mounting points so that i can bolt it on.
Product seems very well designed and manufactured. Minor reaming of a couple of the holes was needed to align with truck frame. We used it with a Blueox tow bar so towing was flawless. I highly recommend this base plate.

Base plate has performed flawlessly over approximately 16,000 kilometers of towing. Highly recommend.

Straight forward install. I have towed the Maverick about 7000 miles with no issues. The pins are a wee bight tight when mating to my Blue Ox tow bar. But that is loosening with time. A nice improvement would be a heavy duty mount for the umbilical plug

Hey Richard, great feedback on the heavy duty mount I can send that along to Demco. Sounds like you have been to some awesome places between all those miles. Is there a place you would consider a must go to that you have traveled to?

One year later and all is well with the baseplate. Towed about 10k and driven about 10k on its own and no noticeable issues.
