Replacement Hub/Drum and Brake Assemblies for 6k Hub with 8 Lug Bolt Pattern

Updated 12/30/2025 | Published 12/23/2025

Question:

@ChrisR Hey Chris, I have a similar problem. I have 6000lb Dexter axles with Nev R Adjust electric brakes and an EZ Lube spindle. I also have an 8 by 6 1/2 bolt pattern. I’m looking to replace brakes and hub assemblies. Problem is etrailer doesn’t sell a 6000lb hub with 8 by 6 1/2. My axle tag # is 131156733. Could you help me find the correct parts please? Thanks, Tom

Hey Tom, we have the correct hub/drum you are looking for with the part # 42866UC3-EZ if you have 1/2 inch wheel studs or the part # 8-219-13UC3 for if you have 9/16 inch diameter studs. Then for brake assemblies you'd just need the part # AKEBRK-7-SA for a set of a left and a right and you'd be set. Basically the 5.2k and up to 7k axles use the same brake components which is why the parts I mentioned say they fit that range of axle capacity.

Jameson, I did notice that some bearings and grease seals were different sizes. Are you certain this hub assembly has the correct size grease seal for my axle. Please let me know for sure. Thanks, Tom

@Tom This is a great follow up question. It SHOULD have the correct grease seal but the 5.2k to 7k axles aren't as standard for the grease seal size as other capacities. So what I would do is pull a hub off and measure the diameter of the spindle where the seal rides and we will know for sure. I wish there was a more exact way to determine this without having to take the measurement manually.

@JamesonC, It looks like the spindle would be 2 1/4”. It also looks like my grease seal has a Dexter Part # of 010-037-01.
