Does Curt Hitch for 2025 Toyota Crown Signia Need 4-Way Mounting Bracket

Updated 10/13/2025 | Published 09/13/2025

Question:

Hello I have a 2025 Toyota Crown Signia. Several questions: 1. I see you have a Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 C35MJ that is custom for our Toyota Crown Signia. I compared it to the Toyota hitch and the only difference seems to be that the Toyota hitch provide a place for the 4 prong plug to be attached. How would I attach the 4 prong plug to the hitch, or does it just lay loose. 2. The wiring harness you suggest is the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector C59236. Toyota offers a harness custom to the Crown Signia as well. Would you know if the Curt harness connects to the existing wiring system of the Signia similar to the Toyota part, or does the Toyota part offer a more plug and play type of approach. I used a wiring harness some years back from e-trailer for our Toyota Highlander and the harness was mated to a factory installed plug on the Highlander, so it was an easy wiring job, no cutting or splicing. 3. Lastly, the Crown Signia sits a little low, and I was wonder if the 2 inch ball we should be using should have a rise, like model Curt Fusion Ball Mount for 2inch Hitches - 2inch Ball - 2-1/4inch Rise - 7,500 lbs Part Number: C45155. Thank you for your help

Hey Blaise, with the Curt hitch # C35MJ installed on your 2025 Crown Signia it doesn't have a 4-way bracket built in like you noticed but the Curt kit part # C59236 would actually get stored in the rear cargo area of your vehicle when not in use so a bracket wouldn't be needed. With that said this is a universal style wiring kit and it does require splicing. I am sure we will get a plug and play option at some point but we don't have it quite yet.

The Curt ball mount part # C45155 is most likely about right with it's 2-1/4 inch rise but you need to also factor the height of the coupler on your trailer when it is sitting level as well.

Hey Blaise, did you find that storing the Curt wiring kit in the rear cargo area worked well for you? I'm curious to know if the Curt ball mount with the 2-1/4 inch rise ended up being the right fit for your Crown Signia. Your experience could really help others with similar setups!

Hello, sorry for the delayed response. I ended up using a 2 onch ball with a 4 inch rise for a u haul 4x8 trailer. That gave me a dead level setup.
