Updated 08/18/2025 | Published 08/15/2025

Question:

Hello, Replacing and upgrading my Carrier Air V unit. Needs: 20amp, 110volts, ducted, cooling and heat pump, no heat strip. 15,000btu, white, controls gas furnace. I had researched this unit and believe it had all my needs just want to verify. Understand the this unit does have a wall mounted digital thermostat that will have to be added in place of my Carrier’s remote controlworst idea ever, have ordered some many replacements after losing them. Any guidance would be appreciated

Hey Ron, thanks for all of that information! The GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC System w/ Heat Pump item # GE85ZR checks every single one of those boxes.

The GE item # GE85ZR does indeed include a wall mounted thermostat. It will definitely replace that remote that keeps walking away. This will allow you to control not only your AC unit's functions but also your furnace.

What kind of trailer do you have?

2005 Jayco Grayhawk 31SS. It it on the older side but only has 10k miles. Was was as a weekend fishing retreat in another life. House needs some repairs and updating. I will have to double check the roof opening prior to ordering 12 x 12 is stuck in my head. I seen that this unit requires a 14 x 14

@RonA Looks like a nice setup. Let me know if you have any additional questions for replacement parts down the road. Hopefully it's 14" x 14", that's a pretty standard size. We're not going to have a comparable setup for a 12" x 12" opening so you'll need to modify yours.
