Purchased this converter to upgrade to a lithium battery. It took a little bit of adjusting to find a place to mount it and wire it in, as it is larger than the previous converter and it comes with a standard 110 plug. I ended up removing the vacuum that we never really used and wiring in a 110 outlet to power the unit. It has worked great. It fully charges the new battery on shore power and the remote allows you to see the current charging status and adjust the type of charge for your battery. Would recommend to anyone that has the space and the time to do just a little bit of work to install.

I replaced my factory WFCO converter, which the circuit board failed within a few years, with this Progressive Dynamics converter. It fit in the factory space with a little room to spare and I was able to fish the remote pendant wiring up to the breaker panel which keeps it handy. I used 10-32 rivet nuts to secure the new converter into the opening. Hansen Rivet makes a rivet nut tool that works great in tight spaces, it worked perfectly and eliminated the need to make complicated mounting hold downs. Overall, the converter is functioning as it should, and time will tell how it holds up. We do a lot of 'off grid' camping and rely on our solar panels and generators to keep our modern 12V conveniences working. I ultimately decided on this converter after extensive research and reading other people's reviews. As always, the group at etrailer were great to work with and I appreciate their help and support.

A replacement for my 9200 (which works just fine) that knows how to handle lithium batteries -- technically YES the older one WILL properly charge them IF you trip it into "boost" mode from the pendant (check the voltages; "boost" is the same as the "charge" stage for lithium), but of course if you forget it typically won't go into that mode on its own -- and thus will not fully charge a LiFePO4.

Why only four stars? It has a bit of no-fan audible noise. Not much, and not enough to be a problem from my point of view, but there is a bit of coil noise -- and the 9200 series was absolutely silent other than the fan.

Unlike many other LiFePO4-compatible converts, however, it is two-stage. Most simply run constant-voltage at 14.4 which is "ok", but with them you're always bouncing off the BMS cut-off. Progressive Dynamics simply does it better and thus while they cost a bit more there is a reason.

The OEM Converter I am replacing is 8 years old and has 1 set of Output 12V Terminals. The Progressive Unit Features are impressive with 2 sets of 12V Terminals, which will improve my connection with the Solar Contoller that was added to my trailer because the wire run was spliced in to the main output cables instead of being directly connected. The Heatsink to help cool the Progressive Converter is a better design, along with the larger housing and cooling fan design. And the features of Battery Type Charge Selection will allow me to upgrade my current Wet Cell Batteries to Lithium in the future.
Angie Z. was absolutely the best part of the whole experience. Kind and professional with experience and assistance. Constant and timely communication. I was so impressed by this experience that I will contact her first with my RV questions and purchases before searching or buying anywhere else. Thank you to ETrailer for keeping the Customer Service experience alive and well. It's a value added benefit that defines the often forgotten practice of Customer satisfaction and support.

Working flawlessly after one year. No i ssues!

by:

Unit was about 1/4 inch too tall to fit in the original spot.Had to modify my electrical panel to make it fit.

My contact Mr William was exceptional. I contacted him many times and he responded very quickly or someone else did in his place. The main reason I went with etrailer was because they seemed to have a great product, and because there was a lot of good reviews of etrailer's customer service. Customer service and support was exceptional. I contacted them a few times for technical support which was very professional. I have installed the product and it is working great so far. I will update you in the future. Every company needs to be like THIS!!! Thanks.

Install looks fantastic, Bev! More importantly, what kind of travel plans do you have with your campervan this summer?

One year ago I bought this charger/converter and still have no regrets. It has worked reliably with no issues including straight through the winter where the temperature dipped below zero a couple of times.
It actually puts out the claimed 30amps as measured by my accurate clamp meter and also verified by the Bluetooth battery itself.
Highly recommend!

  • Is Progressive Dynamics 9300 Converter Lithium Battery Compatible
Hey Gerald, the Progressive Dynaimcs 9300 converter part # PD49RR is lithium battery compatible so it would work just fine with a 300 amp hour lithium battery. It would take basically 10 hours to completely charge your battery if it was totally dead so going with a 60 amp part # PD79RR would charge it in half the time. So what you would gain is a much faster charge.

  • Replacement Converter for 2022 Cougar 22RBS
Hey Lars, I would go with a higher rated Progressive Dynamics converter like the # PD79RR which is rated for 60 amps because while your RV has 30 amp power that's on the AC power side of things and this converter takes that AC and converts it to DC which the amperage changes quite a bit for that. That is why you wouldn't want to match your 30 amp power with a 30 amp converter.

  • Converter Charger for 2018 Outdoors RV Timber Ridge 25RDS With 460Ah Lithium Battery
Hey Steve! A 460Ah battery is pretty large so you will want something with a higher output than the 30A # PD49RR you were looking at. A better choice would be the Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger - 12V - 60A # PD79RR. This will do a much better job and charge your battery at a faster rate. If you don't mind spending the extra money you can even move up to the 80A Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series # PD89RR. I looked at the battery specs and assuming it is the 12V-460AH-250A-BT-Black...

  • Best Replacement For 30 Amp Converter In 1992 Airstream 34'
Hey Thomas, thanks for reaching out. You will definitely want to stick with a 30 amp when replacing your old 30 amp unit. For that I recommend the following: - Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger - 12V - 30A # PD49RR There would be no real gain from doing a 45 amp unit. Plus that would require you to run larger gauge wire to the batteries so it wouldn't be as straightforward of a swap. The # PD49RR is capable of charging lithium batteries so it'll work great once you...

  • Is the Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger a Continuous Charger?
Yes, it is Wayne! The Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series item # PD49RR is a continuous converter charger designed for RVs. It provides 30 amps of continuous DC power while simultaneously charging batteries. It will work great with solar and shore power. The Progressive Dynamics item # PD49RR has a smart charging system that automatically switches between boost, normal, and float modes to avoid overcharging, rather than just delivering a constant, unregulated voltage. • Parts Needed To Add A Lithium Battery To An Enclosed Trailer And Charge It
Hi Omar, Typically on an enclosed trailer the battery will either be mounted to the tongue or will mounted inside at the nose of the trailer to make connecting to a 7-way junction box easier. This can be done with a battery box on the outside of the trailer or will typically just be held in place with some wood if inside the trailer. The lights inside the trailer can be wired to the battery, with an inline switch to turn them on/off. Your traffic light functions will all still run to...

  • How To Install 12v Vent Fan In An Enclosed Trailer With A 120v Panel
Hey Luke, thanks for reaching out. You’re on the right track, that MaxxAir fan is a 12V unit, so it won’t run directly off your 120V panel. What you need is a 12V DC power supply (converter) to step that 120V down and give you a clean 12V output the fan can use. For a fan that draws around 5 amps, I’d go with something in the lower amp range so you’ve got a little headroom and it’s not working at its limit all the time. What I recommend is the following: - Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series...

  • Can I Use the Progressive Dynamics Converter Charger with My Bluetti AC 200, and What Kind of Wire?
Hello Bob, Yes, you can plug the Progressive Dynamics 9300 12V 30A converter charger # PD49RR into the 110V outlet on your Bluetti AC200 Elite and wire it to your Blue Sea panel for 12V devices. Use 10 AWG wire (or 8 AWG for longer runs over 10 feet) from the converter to the panel, and install a 40A fuse or breaker for protection. You should install the 40A breaker between the Progressive Dynamics 9300 converter charger and the Blue Sea panel as close to the converter as possible. This...

  • Replacement Converter for Progressive Dynamics on a 1984 Motorhome
Hey Daniel, For just a converter we have the Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger # PD49RR, but from what you're looking at I'm guessing you need more of a whole system like the Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series # PD4045KA instead. Something like this can work, but you just have to make sure that you have the correct amount of cutout space (10-3/4" long x 7-1/4" tall) and that the 45A rating won't cause anything else to overload - you may have to upgrade other parts in...

  • Power Requirements for Dometic RV Furnace - LP Gas - Automatic Pilot - 12V DC - 25,000 Btu
Hi Steve; the requirements vary depending on the model but the # DMC94RR uses 12V power with an amperage of 7.5A. Your converter only needs to be able to handle the 7.5 amp draw from the furnace. The smallest we have is a converter charger like the # PD49RR which is 30A but you're going to need a battery to go with it. Alternatively you could add a full power center like # PD4045KA. The converter output is quite a bit higher compared to your requirement but that gives you room to add something...

You'll simply just plug into the 3 prong 110 outlet like you said and then the Novawinch would just hook up to the positive and negative terminals on the converter. • Can I Cut The Plug Off The Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter And Direct Wire It?
Hello Rob. The best option for a 30 amp lithium compatible converter is the Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger # PD49RR. I do have to caution against cutting off the plug since this will void your warranty. If you are comfortable with that, and confident in your ability to modify the cord, the converter technically can still be used in this way.

That's pretty low compared to whats used nowadays but the closest to that would be the Progressive Dynamics 9300 part # PD49RR which is rated for 30 amps and lithium batteries like what you will be going to.
