Do All Hitches for 2021 Lexus RX 450h Require Trimming of Lower Panel

Question:
Hello, I am looking for a trailer hitch for a 2021 Lexus RX 450h. Ive watched videos in horror as people cut panels with a utility knife and bumpers with a saw. Is there a hitch available that does not require cutting panels or adjusting the exhaust system? I really do not want to mess up my car installing a trailer hitch. Also, I see where etrailer recommends the Curt C73DR for this car. On the Curt website, Curt recommends the 13515. Lastly, do you know who makes the OEM hitch for Lexus? Is it just a rebranded Curt or DT? Thanks, Steve

Hey Steve, our Curt hitch part # C73DR is the same as the Curt part number you mentioned. Due to how the vehicle is setup there isn't a way to install a hitch without trimming the underbody panel. This is really common now on modern vehicles since the lower panels tend to cover so much of the underside of vehicles now.
If you didn't want to mess with it I attached a link to a page that has our installer locater that you could use to find someone local to you who could do it for you.
