Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at this Curt T connector. It's a vehicle wire harness with a four-pole flat trailer connector on the end. Now folks, this is a custom fit application. Make sure you have a 2010 through 2022 Lexus RX 350 or the Lexus RX 450H without a factory tow package.
And you can find that information from your dealer or whenever you purchase your vehicle or somewhere on the vehicle as well. So again, make sure you're using that fit guide here at etrailer.com. Be sure you're in the right parts the first time. Now as I mentioned, this is a custom fit application. In the rear of your vehicle per the instructions, you're gonna have a spot where you're gonna find a connector matching this.
You're gonna plug that in and that's gonna give you that four-pole flat connector. You'll be able to put this right over the top here, and then this will give you your dust connector, or dust protector. You're gonna have these cable ties with some 3M adhesive, double sided sticky tape foam, and then you're gonna have some little mini fuses. All of those per the instructions you're gonna need to install in a fuse box locate on the vehicle along with this module. This is basically the brains of the whole system.
This will also plug into a custom plug in the vehicle. Once again, follow the instructions. You're gonna have a little ground wire here that you will ground to a metallic part of your vehicle, again, per the instructions with the include itself tapper. You have an inline fuse right here. But this box is basically the module and that is what is talking between this connector and your vehicle, making sure everything's working correctly, and also sending the right amount of current to the brake stop turn taillights on the trailer that's gonna be plugged into the harness.
So this is a fully insulated wire, so you're gonna reduce any risk of shorts or interference with other electronics. And that's what this module's gonna do too. So basically, long story short, in the event there was any kind of back fit or anything, this would kill itself versus letting anything on the car being harmed in any way. So again, this is a simple plug and play operation. And again, follow the instructions, and you should be able to do it with ease. That being said, if you don't wanna tackle it, no problem. This product was difficult to find, local Curt dealers said they couldn't get it. Found it on eTrailer and they shipped it out right away. The part number is different than on the package, but it's exactly what I needed.
