Will Standard Fairing Work on Yakima LockNLoad Platform Rack

Question:
Good morning, I am looking through QnA for the Yakima LocknLoad platform page to help answer my question: is there a wind fairing that will fit? I know the LocknLoad system comes with a wind deflector but its tiny and barely functional, in my opinion. If you would please help me figure out what wind fairing I can buy to attach to the loacknload system please let me know.

Hey David, thanks for reaching out!
I went straight to my contact at Yakima with this one since they do a lot of testing with fitments and stuff already. They said the LockNLoad bars are too big for a standard fairing to secure around them which is why it has it's own fairing.
The only other thing I can think of to help you cut down on wind noise and drag is to use a standard fairing on your crossbars...that is if you have the platform installed on crossbars.
Let me know how you have this platform installed on your vehicle - and what vehicle you have - and I can see what crossbar fairing will work and/or what other alternatives might help.

Hey David, what setup did you end up going with for your LockNLoad platform? Once you had a chance to check how it’s mounted, were you able to find a fairing or another way to cut down the wind noise? Your update could make it easier for others working with the same platform.
