Question:
Have a 1995 Pathfinder that Id like to add a 7 pin for accessories to for 12 volt at the back for convenience. I have the trailer wiring done to a 4 way. My question is can the auxiliaryinch 12 volt black wire be used to wire up a plug to charge via USB? If so does it need to be run to the battery?

Hello Elly.
Yes, in order to get the power to the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter # C57672 you would need to run some 10 gauge wire like # DW02508-1 (sold by the foot) from the battery back to the 7 way connector. If you are looking to put a 7 way on the vehicle I would go ahead and install the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7, this is a kit that we put together in house. It will come with everything you need to get what you want to do done, but also it will have the Pathfinder ready for a brake controller if you ever need to use one in the future for pulling a trailer.

Hey Elly, how did things go with adding the 7-way connector and running the 10-gauge wire to your Pathfinder’s battery? Your results could really help others looking to add a 12-volt accessory line for USB charging.
