Question:
I have a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo without the factory tow package. I currently have 4 wire hook up for my boat trailer and purchased this to add a 7 Pole hook up for a camper. Everything I see says to hook the 12 volt lead to a 30 amp circuit breaker and from there to the 12 volt positive on the battery. In the Grand Cherokee the battery is located under the passenger seat. Is there an easy way to hook that lead to the battery or is there another place I can wire that 12 volt lead to?

Expert Reply:
If your camper requires the 12 volt accessory circuit to charge a battery or maybe use auxiliary lights then you do have to run the wire up to the battery even though it may be difficult to access. While it may be easier to run the wire to a different location you run the risk of damaging the vehicle electronics by doing so. For wire you'd want to use 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 and for a breaker you'd want the part # 9510.
