Question:
We just purchased a 2015 Fiat 500 Sport with what looks like a Blue Ox base plate. Current owner has no info on the setup. We need the removable pins but when looking at the site, there are long back, short back, long front, short front and various combinations so not sure which one we need. To make things more confusing, it does not look like there is a Blue Ox base plate that works on the Sport. Ive attached a photo. Thanks. In fact, I am also wondering which Blue Ox tow bar we should get, light cable and I need the replacement breakaway cable for the Demco STAY-IN-PLAY DUO Supplemental Braking System.

Hey Mike,
Based on the spacing of the safety cable loops it looks like you have the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2805. This fits Abarth and Sport Turbo models and would require Attachment Tabs # BLU57XR. For the breakaway cable you can use part # RM-8603.
For the tow bar I recommend the etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox and Curt Base Plates # e47ZR this comes with safety cables bracketed to the arms so that you don't have to purchase new ones separately or worry about them dragging on the ground. There's also a rod with a retention clip to help hold your lighting cable up off the ground and the head/shank has a built in rise/drop to help keep the tow bar level without having to purchase a separate high/low adapter. When not in use you can fold the arms up and cover the whole setup with part # DM9523042 to protect it from the weather.
Since you have the 6-pole socket installed on there it's probably safe to assume the diode wiring is still in place so you should only need the # BX88206 to transfer your traffic signals back to the Fiat.
If you have any other questions just let me know and I'd be happy to help.

Hey Mike, how did everything go with the Blue Ox base plate and the attachment tabs for your Fiat 500 Sport? Were you able to get the tow bar and wiring all working together smoothly? Your update could make it easier for others setting up a similar flat tow system.
