Recommended Quality A-Frame Jack With 7-Way Plug For Trailer

Updated 12/22/2025 | Published 10/29/2024

Question:

What electric trailer jack would you recommend for my wife’s medium size horse trailer? She has arthritis in her hands and has trouble turning the manual crank to raise/lower the tongue. Her GMC truck has the 7 pin plug. Durability and quality are a must ! Thanks

Hi Steve,

It sounds like your wife has a bumper pull horse trailer so an A-frame jack is what you're looking for. Since you mentioned the 7-way I believe you also want one that simply plugs into the truck's 7-way which will make it easier to power on and off. For that, what I recommend the Electric Trailer Jack w/ 7-Way Plug - A-Frame # EJ-3527-BBX.

This has a 3,500 lb capacity, which is more than enough for a medium-sized horse trailer, and as far as quality, this is a highly-rated jack, with very good customer reviews numbering well over 1,000 (which you can see on the product page if you'd like to take a look).

Hey Steve, how did the electric trailer jack with the 7-way plug work out for your wife’s horse trailer? It sounds like it could make things much easier on her hands. Sharing how it performed could help others looking for a similar setup.
