Features to know about

Push-Button Lifting Power

You remember all those mornings spent fighting with a manual jack, hands sore before you've even pulled out of the driveway? Upgrading to this electric jack with a 7-way connection takes away the pain and makes hooking up easier. Just plug in, press the switch, and your trailer lifts on its own. With 3,500 pounds of lifting power, it is a great fit for smaller campers and light-duty trailers.

Drop Leg

The drop leg gives you up to 9.75 inches of extra height in seconds, so parking and leveling are easier. The pull-pin design adjusts in 2" increments, helping you get close to level before you fine-tune. If you're setting up before sunrise or rolling in late, the built-in LED lights up your coupler so you can see what you're doing. And if you ever lose power, the backup crank makes sure you can still finish hooking up and get back on the road. The included foot plate also works with the 6" Round SnapPad Foot, part MN6SP1, if you want a wider base on softer ground.

Built for Real Life

Rain rolls in and road spray cakes everything underneath your trailer. The double-coated steel helps fight off rust from salt and sun, while the waterproof motor cover and rubber-sealed switches help keep moisture out after a stormy night. Bolt it on with the included hardware, plug into your 7-way, and you're set for the next campsite.

How to Pick the Right Trailer Jack Capacity

Your jack just needs to lift the tongue weight, usually 10 to 15% of your trailer's total weight. For example, if your trailer plus gear weighs 6,000 lbs, your tongue weight will be 600 to 900 lbs. Just make sure your jack's rated for at least that much. It's fine to go bigger, as a higher-capacity jack often makes lifting easier.

Important 7-Way Power Note for Some Ford Trucks

This jack draws power through your vehicle's 7-way connector, and that setup may not work with many Ford F-150 trucks from 2015 and newer that use a smart 7-way. On those trucks, the 12V circuit may only provide limited managed current after the trailer is positively detected and other conditions are met. That circuit is not intended to run a high-draw device like this jack motor. This issue is commonly tied to factory tow packages, including Ford Trailer Tow Package and Max Trailer Tow Package, while many base models do not have the same limitation. If you want to confirm your vehicle-side 7-way is working properly, see our help article: Testing a Vehicle Side 7-Way Trailer Connector for Proper Function .

Video Transcript for Review of etrailer Trailer Jack - Electric Trailer Jack - e72QV

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at our very own etrailer Electric Trailer Jack. Now folks, what's nice about this jack, one, it's 3,500 pounds. So it's made for smaller trailers. It fits an A-frame style trailer, but it has a drop leg so you can easily get down to the ground quicker before you even use the electric motor.

And when it's time to use the electric motor, you can simply plug it in really quickly to any standard seven-way plug connection at the back of your vehicle. Now this is gonna come with a manual override option at the top. You can simply pull that plug off, insert the manual override tool, and then you could simply raise or lower the jack if needed in the event of a power failure. And of course, you're gonna get the hardware, the three bolts, nuts and washer to mount that into your trailer. Now I do want open an image of my friend over here in photo, Taylor doing an awesome job modeling this jack for us.

And as you can see on the left-hand side, it's at its very lowest retracted stage. And then on the right-hand side picture, fully extended. So pretty impressive, it has 18 inches of lift, plus that drop leg gives you an additional 9 3/4 inches in two-inch increments of adjustability. So speaking of that drop leg, let's go ahead and pick this jack up and show you that really quick close up. So as you can see, it's that nice etrailer yellow we got going on, easy to see.

You simply remove the safety pin here, and then if this was standing up, obviously, now you have a lot more adjustments that you can do with that drop leg. And again, that's gonna make quick work of lowering this down to the ground before you have to remove the jack from the ball and get it off of your trailer. So it's gonna save time, energy. And as you can see, this jack is pretty light. I mean it's a lightweight jack as far as 3,500 pounds, but that again it's standard for most small trailers, whether it's for an ATV trailer, those kind of things.

Coming from the top down, let me scoot this back over. So again, that rubber plug, it fell off. It's behind my box now, but the rubber plug goes right in there. That's gonna keep dust and dirt and debris out of that override mechanism. You have your up and down button and you even have a little light button because we have an integrated light on the jack face that's gonna point down towards your coupler. That way when it's time to hook up and use the jack, you'll be able to see what you're doing. Now as you can see, you get the whole jack and all that stuff included. We also have, sold separately, you can get this in combination with this snap pad, and this basically goes underneath that yellow foot and it presses in place, and then you have some extra grip, you have a better footprint as far as that goes and everything. And then that would stay on the jack leg permanently, just pop it in place literally, and the snap pad stays right in place. Again, that is sold separately. You can get it with the jack, it has its own part number, e22QV. Again, part number e22QV if you would like that rubber snap pad. Now I do have a box here for demonstration purposes only. I wanna go ahead and get this powered up so we can then give her a test. So we got our seven-way. And let's go ahead and get the light turned on. As you can see, it's already on 'cause I pushed the button earlier. Off, on. And then of course, up and down. (trailer jack whirring) So as you can hear, it's pretty quiet. I'm gonna go back down now. (trailer jack whirring) And then once it hits the bottom, it's gonna stop on its own. And everything here has a water-resistant construction. It is corrosion-resistant, it has an e-coat layer over the matte black powder coat finish, and everything, again, is nice and durable. So as you can see, it was just that simple to operate the jack. I just plugged it into the back of my vehicle at the electric connection, and then I was ready to power it up and use it. So again, folks, the nice etrailer Electric Trailer Jack for A-frame style trailers, 3,500 pound capacity. As always, if you have any questions about this or any of the products, reach out to us. We're more than happy to assist you. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.

  • Looking For Electric Jack For 6x12 Enclosed Trailer That Plugs Into Silverado OEM 7 Way For Power
Hey Mark! All three of these etrailer jacks - the # e72QV 3,500 lb, the # e22QV 3,500 lb with SnapPad, and the # e82QV 5,000 lb with SnapPad - are powered directly through your truck’s 7-way plug. So with your Silverado’s factory 7-way, you can simply plug the jack in and run it without adding a trailer battery or wiring anything permanently. For a 6x12 enclosed landscaping trailer, the # e72QV is typically more than enough capacity. If you’re parking on gravel, dirt, or soft ground at...

  • Can I Still Manually Crank The etrailer Electric Trailer Jack If It's Not Hooked Up To Truck's 7 Way
Hey Brian, completely fair concern - and yes you can, so you won’t be stuck. The etrailer eclectic trailer jacks like 3,500lb # e72QV, 3,500lb with snappad # e22QV, and 5,000lb # e82QV include a manual emergency override. There’s a rubber cap on top of the jack head that you remove, and the included crank handle lets you manually raise or lower the jack if power isn’t available. So even though these are powered by your truck’s 7-way during normal use, you still have a mechanical backup....

  • Replacing Old Manual Jack On 2018 Jayco Jay Flight Travel Trailer - Comparing Electric Jack Upgrades
Hey Angela, you’re thinking about this exactly the right way. Electric tongue jacks are sized based on tongue weight, not total trailer weight. With your 750–800 lb tongue weight, the 3,500 lb models of our etrailer electric trailer jacks # e72QV or # e22QV are already operating well within their limits. The # e82QV 5,000 lb would give you extra overhead, but it isn’t required for your setup. If you camp on gravel or uneven ground, the # e22QV (which is the # e72QV plus the SnapPad kit)...

  • What Is The Difference Between Etrailer Electric Trailer Jacks e72QV & e22QV With SnapPad?
Tyler, great question - and it’s definitely more than cosmetic. The etrailer electric trailer jacks # e72QV and # e22QV are mechanically identical 3,500 lb jacks. Same motor, same lift height of 18", same 7-way plug power. The only difference is that the # e22QV includes the SnapPad in the kit. The SnapPad: -Expands the footprint to about 7-3/4" diameter -Helps prevent sinking in gravel, sand, or soft soil -Adds grip on wet surfaces -Protects concrete or asphalt from metal foot marks...
